Unemployment extension for all Tiers, except the Tier 5 for the 99ers, is being voted on by the House today. Instead of a year long extension that many have advocated this one will only be for 3 months, ending Feb. 28, 2011.

In order to pass, it must get a two thirds majority vote. Even if this does pass the House it will still need to get the approval from the Senate.

This will be great if this passes for all of these unemployed but it still will leave out the 99ers many of whom have been without benefits for months.

Following is a comment from online from one of those 99ers:

From Joe:

"What about the 6 MILLION unemployed 99er's who have been without benefits?! I guess we will be ignored yet again!!! We all deserve the help of OUR country!

55 years old and not a damn job in sight! Even seasonal jobs require a credit report…what credit!!! Lost or sold everything it took me 35 years to obtain…401K, savings, house, car etc.

Congress…wake up! There are millions of Americans who are more depressed than ever this holiday! Please don't turn your backs on us!!"

46 months ago: The fiscally responsible republicans don't have problem adding $700 billion of unfunded tax cuts for th wealthy (or $70 billion just for one year of extended tax rates) - but for the middle class professionals - who have never asked for a dime, worked hard and paid taxes all of their lives - minimal, temporary assistance must be paid for?!

The Republicans are not only arrogant hypocrites, they are ignorant and keep proving that fact daily - if people would just pay attention, they'd get the message.

Example: Betsy Markey voted against UI extensions FOUR times; now that she and her staff are headed to the unemployment lines, she voted in favor of extending UI benefits yesterday. Hypocrit. She was Republican in disguise - and now she wants to vote with the Dems to help the unemployed?

Enough said.
