The Head of the FDA today called for, "what else?" MORE FUNDING AND AUTHORITY!!! What a joke the federal government and it's bureaucratic donkey tail has become. I would rather have diarrhea and stomach cramps from those rotten eggs than the feeling I have seeing our wonderful nation being gobbled up by an over regulated nanny state bureaucratic nightmare. If the FDA could not find a half million salmonella infected eggs with the resources and power they currently have then they should simple be shut down. They simply are not doing the job promised and we are still alive so why do we need them. Lets save the money and trust our farmers and also buy stock in Pepto-Bismol.
Folks look at the stock market it is running up to 10,500ish and then dropping. It has done this many times since April. It is doing that because beyond this level is unknown. Unknown government regulation and taxation. There is the unknown of what is going to propel the U.S. Economy to our next level. Obviously the service industry argument was a load of crap. If you don't produce tangible good then you don't have wealth as a nation. A cow is worth something. You can sell it or you can use it to produce more cattle or you can eat the meat and sell the leather. We have a problem in this country of generations of Americans not understanding true wealth. I see on occasion when I travel to another city in my region Amish folks riding on horse drawn wagons. I can guarantee you these folks have wealth, and are self sufficient and have skills to survive and produce more wealth. Wouldn't it be the irony of the century if our way of life collapsed and we were all forced to live a more agrarian lifestyle like the Amish!
Americans will never accept the yoke of socialism and the government needs to realize this and stop ruining the country. There are many things that the government could be doing that they are not. One is if you have stimulus money use it exclusively to build and repair infrastructure that will add value to our economy. If the government wants to use its power to guide the economic growth of the nation through incentives why not give a grant to anyone who can make the most affordable package to retrofit every home in the US with solar power and make it affordable for the average American. Something that would pay for itself in five to ten years. Government should do what only government can do. Defend us, take care of roads, set goals and measure benchmarks for the economy as a whole but use incentives not coercion.
