Now as a record heat wave moves across much of the country, the south is covered in smoke from record forest fires. The record snow pack from this winter is now melting in the record heat, which translates into record flooding. WE ain't seen nothing yet. The poor troops in Iraq are suffering through 138 degree heat! It isn't even summer yet!
http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.c...We have already seen record tornadoes this year and the Hurricane season is just starting.
http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagid=1405I wonder at which point all of the Global Warming deniers are going to wake up and say to themselves, Hm I don't ever remember seeing or hearing about that before?
Our politics is dominated by the Tea Partiers who almost universally deny that the changes in climate are human caused.
The scientists who have reached a consensus that the climate change is human caused have changed their tones. Usually conservative and cautious, the climatologists in the past would tell you that no single weather event is evidence of global warming.
Now they will tell you that the accumulation of unusual weather events, multiple 500 year floods, record droughts, record heat, record snowfall, are all part of a pattern. Now when you ask them about the unusual weather they will say, we warned you this would happen.
http://www.minnpost.com/donshelby/2011/0...So what are our choices? If we act on what 95% of the climate scientists tell us is happening, we will end up with less pollution more wildlife and a better environment. Even if we are wrong about the climate science, this is a good thing.
If we do nothing, even if there is a 1% chance of it happening, then the results will be catastrophic.
