Kris Allen is not original...he did not come up with the version of "Heartless" that everyone went gaga over. Take a look at youtube..."The Fray" already did it.

Adam Lambert is a true original. The record industry needs someone like him now...someone different. Not the same type of singer as Kris Allen...they are many of them out there right now.

Adam has been compared to Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, etc. for good reason , he's got that "star power" that no one has ever had on the show..until now.

ADAM FANS...vote vote vote vote on Tuesday.. we don't need another Kris Allen.

36 months ago: Not only was the Fray's cover already mentioned on Idol, Randy Jackson even stated that Kris' version was superior. Is this your idea of "dirt" on Kris? Do you honestly believe that Adam has been any more original? Did you know that Adam's "Mad World" was "copied" from Gary Jules, or that he lifted "Feeling Good" from Muse? Kris has showed far more originality in arrangements, and your ignorance in this matter is embarrassing. Why do you feel so threatened by good reviews for Kris? Fact is, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are both talented, unique competitors, as well as good friends. They would be ashamed of your silly attempt to discredit Kris.
36 months ago: Nice try, but that does not even sound like the same version.

But here is what Adam's PRE-IDOL music sounds like.

and this gem

Notice that Adam's music is NOT Rock, but is like Britney Spears. Like Eurotencho.

36 months ago: Here is where Adam COPIED Mad World and he didn't mention that when he did that from Jules.

when Adam copied Ring of Fire he never mentioned that he STOLE that from another artist.

Plus when Adam copied Feeling Good he never mentioned he STOLE THAT from Muse.

..and that version doesn't even sound the same as the Fray...everyone can play that game.

36 months ago: Here is the song that Adam didn't tell people who sang it first. It was by Dilana.

You know what is nasty about this idiot is that Kris and Adam are great friends.

36 months ago: Here is Feeling Good that Adam did, but funny that he didn't tell anyone:

You see Vicki, by showing your nastiness, two can play the same game.

36 months ago: People try this crap every year. He didn't rip off anyone. Kris's version is so much cooler than ANYTHING out there.

Last year even though Ryan said David Cook was doing "Chris Cornell's version" of Billie Jean, Cornell's fans kept saying David ripped Cornell off.

Some people obviously have nothing better to do with their time.
36 months ago: Now people can see that some of those Adam "performances" were not Original in the first place. They were exact copies.

Meanwhile the Fray one is not even close.

36 months ago: Here is the Mad World by Gary Jules

hmmm...sound familiar?

36 months ago: Adam has given credit where credit is due on his performances. I don't see any point in trying to run down either Kris or Adam.

36 months ago: Kris' Heartless is "note for note" The Fray version except he is singing both lead and backup vocals -- I think he did a nice arrangement of The Fray version. And it doesn't sound anything like it because The Fray original is just better. BTW -- where did Kris get the idea, Adam suggested this version to Kris. Just like Kris made good song suggestions to Alison. Adam credited Gary Jules for the Mad World arrangement immediately after the show. You may recall, there was no time to do it on air because they ran over. He called Feeling Good "The Muse Version" in the pre-performance interview with Jamie Foxx. Regarding Ring of Fire, show me what he covered, because I can't find a version like it.
36 months ago: Kris stole the arrangement of HEARTLESS from an Asian guy in the tube.

Watch this Asian guy doing a cover of HEARTLESS.

"KANYE WEST HEARTLESS ACOUSTIC COVER"

Look for the video by ahnmin

Kris' HEARTLESS is almost an exact replica of the Asian guy's cover.
36 months ago: While there are countless acoustic version of Heartless, Kris still sounds just like Kris and similar to his other covers. He never claimed to be the first acoustic version. He has a very distinctive style that he can manage to blend in with his covers. Friends have told stories of him doing acoustic versions of hit songs for years. It is a natural talent for Kris.

I have compared Kris to the numerous versions, and there is no note for note copying from Kris. There is a point where acoustic bare covers are going to sound alike if the original melody and phrasing is kept intact.

Kris is Kris. Give Kris his due talent.
36 months ago: When did Adam give credit to Gary Jules, Dilana or Muse FOR STEALING their version. Oh, that is right...HE DIDN'T.

I went back and looked and Adam NEVER gave them props. That is THREE songs that Adam stole, but didn't give the originals credit.
36 months ago: Danny at least did it his own way. Danny never stole anybodies work.
36 months ago: I'm not really sure Kris' version of "heartless" is all that similar to The Fray's, but regardless, the show's been rife with copied arrangements from almost everyone. Certainly last season when David Cook ripped Chris Cornell's arrangement of "Billie Jean" and that fact was barely mentioned, contestants seemingly realized they could borrow obscure versions of songs and bowl over mostly-ignorant audiences with less effort than might be required otherwise. And clearly the judges don't pick up on it much or care much if they do. Perhaps next season the clueless Kara will be replaced with a persnickety judge who knows his or her stuff when it comes to this topic and demands more originality from contestants.

36 months ago: well that was an exciting and riveting rave on -not! regardless of who 'stole' who's version Adam's voice makes it original. No one sounds like him, unlike the others who may be able to hold a tune and sing well but are not distinguishable. It's the distinguished artists that stand the test of time. He simply has the x factor. Kris is sweet and appealing to the young but fails to have the sophistication and flair Adam has.

36 months ago: Please go listen all the way through Dilana's version of "Ring of Fire" ... Adam may have gotten the mood and the first few bars from her (he told Randy Travis he found a "cool version on the Internet", he didn't say he did it himself), but then she continues on throughout the song in the same very low, slow way, while Adam's version soars ... no comparison at all. And Gary Jules himself said Adam's version of "Mad World" was "unique and beautiful" ... so if the artist doesn't feel violated, who are we to complain?
