For years, many have called out to the people of earth, warning their brothers and sisters of the dangers of climate change. It has been a long fight, and many thought that it was a battle that just could not be won. Those doubters are right if you ask Frank Fenner.
Fenner is the emeritus professor in microbiology at the Australian National University. He has studied the elements of species rising and falling like tides for his entire career.
He has helped write over 20 books, and who had a large hand in helping to eliminate small pox. He has contributed a lot to science. All of that is however pointless because according to him, his work will only be around for another 100 years, and after that none of us will be here, because we will be extinct.
He claims that this is pretty much unavoidable. This is primarlity due to the fact that a species require a certain amount of space and resources to survive, and with our uncontrolled consumption and our ever increasing population, there is just no way we can survive.
Ultimately, with our actions of this era destroying our planet, it will ultimately destroy us. Climate change will render us to no more than the likes of the dodo bird and the dinosaurs.
He spoke of how the aborigines lasted for tens of thousands of years because of their healthy involvement with nature, and said that we will not last as long because of our technology.
So there you have it folks, the world will not be ending in 2012 it will end in 2110.
So I am placing bets, I bet anyone of you $100 that the world will not be ending in 2110. Any takers? Anyone think that the world only has 100 more years?
Maybe we will though, maybe its time that we just let the other apes around have a go at being top dog.
