The world is ending, Fox is refusing to show President Obama's prime time press conference on Wednesday night in favor of the show "Lie to Me." Fox clearly is displaying their political bias, cleverly stating their opinion of anything Obama has to say under the name of their show, "Lie To Me." It looks as though Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck have won this round. Take that left wingers, and you thought it was important to hear White House info about the swine flu, war or recession. Idiots!

In all honesty, I don't think this is really a big deal. Fox is after ratings, and know they can't compete with the major networks news coverage, or even their own Fox News. President Obama also isn't the only president to be snubbed by Fox, even the beloved GW was snubbed for "Fear Factor." I'll let you fill in the joke there (even if it was NBC, I couldn't pass on that one)...

In the end, who doesn't like a little conspiracy? Now if ABC was dropping Obama for Lost, I wouldn't know what to think. The national issues are important, but what the heck is going on in the time warped island? I demand answers, on a national level.

37 months ago: Fox isn't the only network getting tired of Obama. This is the third time he's interupted prime time, since his election and every time he appears, he costs the networks upwords of $10 million in ad revenue. Plus, it's the beginning of sweeps week.

Besides, it's still going to air on Fox News.

37 months ago: There is a difference between Fox and Fox News

Fox News is showing the press conference.

Fox, the station that airs the Family Guy and American Idol, is not airing it.

Who would watch that? Besides, Fox News will dominate the cable ratings battle and everyone who is tired of seeing Obama will tune into the new programming on Fox.

On an unrelated note, no, Obama holding a press conference to tell us all how great he's been doing in his first 100 days is not news.

37 months ago: Wow, personally i believe the ad revenue is the biggest motivating factor. Ad sales are down, just like everything else in this economy, they need the money. Personally, i think it's smart, they have two stations, so air regular programming on one, and air lie to me on the other. Plus, i love Lie To Me, it's a good show! I'll be watching.

37 months ago: Ok, I agree with this point, I don't think Obama needs another news conference during prime time this soon. To me, these are to be used infrequently, and in times when the information is nation-changing. Put fireside chats on Sunday afternoon. I am a huge, huge, huge Obama fan, that probably doesn't need to be said, but if he overuses these when he's already the most well-documented via the web President in history, I think they will lose their relevance, and he will lose his ability to get the time and to get an audience. I have never gotten to see "Lie to Me" because it overlaps with "LOST" which I still think is the best show in the history of Television, so I might give it a try just to prove my point.

As for the whole "Obama Diva" construct. Well, maybe he is a Diva. And great, as long as he does an awesome job and moves our country back into solvency, I could care less. Only conservatives who still don't get that George W. Bush was a glee club Yalee with a Harvard MBA and a Jesus complex was the biggest Diva president we've had since JFK. History, though, will be the judge.
37 months ago: It's a bit too early now after only 3 months in office to start that history will be the judge line. How about we wait a few more years. Can I use it 3 months down the line?
Can I use it after another attack on U.S. soil? Can I point at failed policy changes that allowed it to happen?
Get ready...It's probably already coming...I need to check the odds makers in LV and see where they think we stand.
LV is not in the business to loose money.

It is fun to watch his head and eyes though. Does he know where the camera is? You can make all of your pointed little jokes about W. He at least looked into the camera when he made a statement. Oh, sorry I missed this one. This guy isn't making a statement. He's reading it.

Poll anyone?

If you wan to brainwash a population repetition is the first ingredient. I think Obama is going to rival Adolf Hitler for the most prime time "press conferences."

37 months ago: Siempre, remember that I am not a Democrat or even a Blue Dog Democrat. I'm an independent, though, I've got to say the far right wing conservatives in this thread are pushing me closer to becoming convinced I should switch like Specter and become a Democrat. My entire point to CG and BR all along as been to try to get them to see that it is their style of opinions that is driving people away from their party. And guess what, if they are the only two left, then they are a party of two. Not a very compelling political movement. If this is what is happening on this scale on this site, right wing neo-conservatives pushing the independents to the right, calling us names, doubting our convictions, calling what we say BS, and so forth, imagine the impact this style of political bullying is having across the nation. Maybe Rush Limbaugh is really working for the Left? He is driving more and more people away from the middle and the conservative mindset. I listen to him frequently, and I think "If he's the voice of reason in the conservative movement, I don't want anything to do with that." Young people are fleeing the party. Middle aged people are fleeing despite years of believing it was the party of 'family values' and so forth. Obama would not have won, had he not been able to capture the middle ground. This is a fact lost on the right wing. They haven't yet realized after two straight drubbings in the elections and Arlen Spectre switching sides to ensure a political future in a state that went so far Blue in the last election as to make them appear to blend with their highly democratic neighbor New York that their ideology is no longer in the majority, if it ever truly was. This was my point on one of Tom Wing's comments. People weren't just fleeing Bush though he didn't help, they were also fleeing the anti-ideology ideologues.

37 months ago: Well, I am not a Democrat. To me the Democrats and the Republicans are both wolves in sheep skin. Both parties want to keep the rich rich and the poor poor and the middle class working to support the rich and make the poor feel bad about. The only difference about the two parties is that the Republicans are more honest about this agenda and the Democrats try to hide it behind useless social programs that are designed to fail. My favorite of which of late is the bi-lingual education programs. These are designed to help kids who aren't fluent in English stay fluent in Spanish so they can never be as competitive in the job force in the USA. They look and sound good and noble, but they are really insidious.

This whole Obama thing is so blown out of proportion it is unbelievable. I don't regret voting for him because John McCain didn't represent either America or any political party that would consider themselves conservative, but so far it seems that Obama isn't representing the middle class either.
