The number of Americans that receive food stamps climbed to a record high 41.8 million in July as the jobless rate hovered near a 27-year high, the government said.
Came across this article about food stamps, over on Bloomberg this morning. the numbers above are astonishing and almost unbelievable. There are 310,426,999* people living in the USA as I write this article. When the math is done on the numbers above that's a whooping 13.5% of all Americans are using food stamps.
OK, here comes the blame game, it's the Republicans fault, no no it's the Democrats, look in the sky it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's the US crashing down because of politics getting into the way.
I wrote a article about a month back entitled
A message for Obama and Washington. about how all politicians should learn how to get along before we really hit the bottom of the barrel. With this latest report about food stamps it seems the politicians aren't listening.
In my humble opinion, Mr. Obama should have given food stamps and a guide on how to use store coupons instead of money, over a 12 month period. I myself in the past have used food stamps and I'm not ashamed to let people know. I became a pro at using store coupons. I could buy $200.00 worth of groceries for around $50.00. Sure I didn't get all of the stuff I really wanted, but those food stamps stretched my budget, so I could pay for other bill's. Which in return stimulated the economy. This is why I really think Obama, should have issued food stamps instead of money for the stimulus.
One must wonder what will become of the US as the jobless rate's are climbing to newer levels, people are losing houses, food stamps are at a all time record high and politicians are just simply fighting with each other.
A message to all politicians once again,
Can't we just all get along before it's too late?
I challenge any politician to respond to this issue, or send an email about what you're doing to improve the current situation in the US.
