June 1st the Florida minimum wage went up 6 cents. Six cents for part time worker equals $1.20 more a week and $2.40 for fulltime workers. Is this some kind of a bad joke or do they really think this will help improve the quality of life of the poor under employed in Florida. Now they can buy a loaf of bread to feed there families. As long as minimum wage stays at $7.31 an hour our economy will not improve. This is a very important part of our economy. Minimum wage needs too go up a lot higher so the people can live above the poverty level. This country is working backward. Our government helps the rich business owners so they can spread them savings down to there workers and consumers. But that trickle effect just doesn't work. If they raised the minimum too $9.00 an hour it would do wonders for the economy. Increase revenue in taxes and help improve Medicare social security our budget with more revenue coming to the government through more taxes being paid in. With more money in the pockets of the consumers our economy would prosper. As long as our government keeps the poor poor and the rich rich there will never be balance in this country.

The minimum wage is a joke, that's true. When minimum wage goes up, inflation follows or people lose their jobs.

11 months ago: The way I figure it, if you don't like the wage somebody is paying you, go get another job or make your own.

Period.
