What started out as a social network, as become a socialist networld... where entire governments can be overturned, identification stolen, and illegal goods or people are sold, with ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY! We have seen how the middle east has been over-turned by Facebook; now banned products or services are featured like tobacco and prostitution...

"Employees of the transnational tobacco company British American Tobacco (BAT) are exploiting the social networking site Facebook to promote BAT and its Dunhill and Lucky Strike cigarette brands, according to an Australian study in the June 2010 issue of the journal Tobacco Control."

"About 83 percent of prostitutes have Facebook pages, and many turned to the social network before Craigslist got rid of the "adult services" category, according to Columbia University sociology professor Sudhir Venkatesh."

What people don't understand is that this has made communication a lot easier, but not just for the average folk, but organized crime. The "underworld" has always used innocence to mask their evil... it is no different with Facebook junkies or other anonymous mediums of mass communication. Governments have even plugged-into this source for info and stings. This is a preferred source for advertising or deception.

We heard a while ago about the theft of millions of identities from Facebook, and the hacking of the designer and owner of Facebook... what makes us think that we aren't an open door to viral infiltration or susceptible to life altering scams?

Back in April of last year A hacker named Kirllos was found selling stolen user names and passwords from Facebook... and the start of some "copycat" crimes...

Now we can see how people would scam the public on Facebook, but companies are "enlisting" their employees to advertise for them in areas that have been banned to do so. "Word of mouse" can be passed to a great well of potentials... Facebook has more than 400 million users, using over 500 billion minutes per month... like shooting fish in a barrel! And currently there is no way to make remote advertisers accountable.

In the case of cigarette companies they have all but revealed their hand in this game, they have been targeting women and third world countries for years. It won't be a fair-play in their next move.

Now back to the Socialist-Networld issue, it would appear that the global internet biggies would have us all fry in one pan, it makes control a bit easier. Google is connected to Facebook.... and so on. You can't search, send, see, or be seen without Big Brother's evil twin sifting through your laundry! You have watched the "conspiracy theories" before... the difference is that this is no longer theory. "THEY" don't even care if you know who they are, in fact you are there best advertising! When you can see whole nations overthrown by "word of mouse" ...your little world will be less than a piece of cheese!

What can the average "user' do about it all? First, I like the term "user" ...quite fitting for it's use and misuse like it was a drug. Second, I just wanted to use "user" in a sentence describing the social network as a drug! Lastly, there is no escaping it...
we can protest, yell and screen all we like, but no one can hear us, because we
have all been rendered down to electronic impulses and impressions on a page.
When your account is pulled, you will be too "yesterday" to remember.

[One thing we can do is "feature" our own misdirection in order to pass on information, YOU will know what I mean if you check out the videos on the left !:]

I think many of us just want some place in life, something we can be remembered by.
I don't think that we will care much if we get "added" on our death bed...
unless it is into that great 'GRACEBOOK' in the sky...

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne,
and books were opened..." Revelation 20:12-15

Besides what makes you think that prostitution and organized crime are liberal or socialist? Both of these venerable institutions are the oldest forms of free market capitalism. As conservative as you can get.

The social networks are an even greater symbol of freedom than the guns are to rednecks, and you will have even less chance of prying those blackberries out of the hands of the young tweeters.

"just a communication tool"??

Do you think that this "tool" is still primarily in the hands of the "private sector?"

14 months ago: The Obama administration is farming out contracts to private firms to create fake accounts on social networking sites, to make a seeming "consensus" on controversial issues.

Emails from private security firm HBGary confirmed the government proposal to develop Persona Management Software, which would enable a single user to easily manage multiple profiles. The software also enables the user to provide separate IP addresses for each profile, and can make it appear that each is located in a different part of the world.

I think people just don't want to believe that the gov is owning us... people say stuff like this... "we are the government" ...if it isn't me, and it isn't you... then it must be "THEM!"

You could do an expose' on this deal. The HBGary firm is a slime bag operation dedicated to digging up dirt on people, cyber attacks on their clients rivals, and attacking organizations such as Wiki and Anonymous.
The fact that they were approached by the government to create this nefarious software speaks volumes.

14 months ago: Box,

Send me some info, I think that I barely scratch the surface. I'm gonna let ya'll in on something... I as a registered minister cannot make public political statements, so why do I? My statements are focused on American politics... and that is something I can't be dinged on. SO I will do you guys a favor to expose and write on things that chap your American hide... and you can return the favor. I know of a few pastors who have had their wings clipped for slamming Canadian agendas... up here we have a "gag law" that has some teeth. Anyway... in case you were wondering.

14 months ago: Al,

Think of it, it's like the jackpot... don't need wire tap approval or surveilence orders... people givie it up freely... and what makes it sooooo good is it's all public domain! You can't steal info that easy! You can cause all kinds of crap with a keystroke with rumor and insinuations.... a big difference between that and cell phones, but in the same vein look at what 50Cent was able to do with twitter... do you think totalitarian war mongers aren't on it already?
