Executive Renders Other Branches Superfluous

In a precident setting move of heretofore unimagined bipartizanship,
Senate Majority Leader Reid and House Speaker Boehner agreed to put the House and Senate into what amounts to indefinate recess. "Hey" Speaker Boehner explained "We're no longer needed. The White House has everything covered". Speaking of the previous day's Supreme Court announcement that the justices have agreed to an indefinate recess of that body, Reid said "We figured the Supreme Court was on to something. Lieing in the shade taking a siesta while collecting your pay isn't a bad way to go." A White House source said that while the President was surprised at the actions of Congress and the Supreme Court he believed that the Executive Branch is fully up to the challenge of ruling without further assistance from the other two branches of government. "We got it covered.", said the source, "Everything's going to be JUST FINE."

OK, so the above is a (possibly lame) attempt at satire and I know that the scenario I described is unlikely in the extreme to actually come to pass.

BUT the faux news piece IS drawn from fact. Folks, the Exective branch has the bit in its teeth now. It has graduated from ignoring the orders of Federal Judges (at least when a ruling goes against what it wants) to deciding what laws the DOJ will and will not enforce and defend. No matter that the law is of over a decade's standing. The Executive branch now has decided that IT is to be the arbiter of the constitutionality of laws.

Hey! The Executive WRITES its own laws - via Executive Orders and Federal regulations - AND determines what is and is not constitutional. I don't know why the Congress and SCOTUS don't just fold their tents and go home. They are no longer needed. We out here need not worry. The Obama Administration has everything covered.

Works for me.

Guess I'll need to get more ammo. Only got 200 rounds on hand at the moment. I figure I'll be ordering more tomorrow or Monday.

CRAP!!!

Reckon a 7.62NATO round would have a similar effect to a wolverine's paw?

15 months ago: Where were you when Bush and Cheney actually tried to implement the policy of "Unitary Executive"? Bush became as close to a monarchy as we have been since our independance. http://writ.news.findlaw.com/commentary/...

Even in 2006 he had claimed the authority to ignore 750 laws! By 2008 it was probably an even thousand laws he ignored through the use of "signing Statements". http://politicalcorrection.org/factcheck...

Obama on the other hand has been totally ineffective at exercising his lawful executive powers and has let the Congress totally dominate the executive powers, because it is Congress that creates all of the laws and budgets. Obama has barely touched any of his powers. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionar...

There are hundreds of presidential appointments that have been left vacant.

Obama has only vetoed two bills compared to 78 for Reagan.
