It seems that the RantRave Email Subscription Notification is having a problem. Several members, myself included, are not getting their messages concerning Rants and Raves they have opted into.

For me, it started sometime Friday, Dec 16. I was getting a few random notifications, not all of them for sure, and those that did get delivered were lagging by as much as 8 hours. By Saturday I wasn't getting any at all.

I changed my registered email account to one on another provider, (a brand new account that I generated just for that purpose, for security reasons) and I got 8 rantrave notifications right off the bat, but then those also dried up. Then I changed my registered account back to the original, and as far as I tell, it has been working fine since.

If you are having trouble, please contact the site administrator or moderators.

Same for any other other problems.

5 months ago: Try switching your email accounts, to see if it's a spam blocker thing with your email provider.

I got notifications on TB's comments, (but I had already logged off, sorry TB).

TCG, as of 0645 this morning, I still haven't received email notification of your comments.

I'm pretty sure it's a government conspiracy, thanks a lot guys. ;p

5 months ago: 0730 and still no notifications. However I did get a failure notice when I tried to reply to "notifications@rantrave.com". Doesn't really mean anything, though.

5 months ago: It's still spotty. I was getting a few through yesterday, but none at all today. At one time, I had looked up the management company for RantRave.com.

If I can locate it again, I'll try to put a bug in their ear.

5 months ago: Not that anyone will see this, but here's an interesting set of facts.

Jan 2011 site visits were in the 300k range, and a downward spiral set in until our low of 15k in October. November and December saw a steady climb in viewers, thanks to the quality articles we have been enjoying, and thanks largely to site members who actively direct traffic our way.

On the financial side, the site was valued at over $300,000US in January, and has dropped in value to around $7000, with an estimated sale price of $3500.

I know I'm a diehard, but it's strange that after years of nearly flawless service, and just when our own "recession" was making a turnaround, suddenly we are having trouble communicating.

About the timeframe when the site was internally sabotaged. You want to work that conspiracy theory into your analysis?

4 months ago: I said a while ago that other than you and RSG the biggest problem with this site is the apathetic staff. The moderators do nothing. The Admins do nothing. It took far to long to address the spammers. If the owners/operators of the site don't want to do their jobs then that is fine, but why bother keeping it open? Just shut it down. It lost $270,000 in value in a year? I didn't need to go to school for years and years to get an MBA to tell me that if an investment/company that is this small LOSES more than a quarter million dollars in value in a year that you should probably close it/drop it/sprint away from it like it has the plague. It has become very apparent that the people who are "in charge" don't want to be. They are just going through the motions. No matter how many views you generate it doesn't change the fact that there are essentially at this point 10 or less people who actually discuss things/post things. Al apparently has left. So that leaves: You, RSG, Sunny, Me, OOTB, Cully, Huey and Truthbrary...WTF is the point of them dumping money into this to keep it running for us? We could just as easily attack each other on some other forum and help them stop losing money

I don't need to follow the site on twitter, I can just visit it as I always have and check posts. I use twitter for a very specific purpose, following this site is not one of them.

That is an impressive number of views in over 4 months for such a Brainiac. I'm sure your contribution has put untold thousands of dollars into the sites pockets. Which they have not spent to upgrade your level of Royalty.

4 months ago: I actually feel that I wrote 3 very well researched and thought out articles about 4 months ago, the discussion that ensued was a gigantic flamefest by a select few. I feel no need to post well thought out articles that I put time and effort into just to have a few people who don't follow the ToS bash to no end because they don't like facts. There is literally no reason to post anything on this site until The Cypress Gang is banned and his IP address blocked. I'm sure that people will disagree because he is the messiah that set up a twitter account that gets no views (but somehow that is helping), let's just ignore the 285,000 people who no longer visit this site because of his incessant vileness.

My target audience is not the Darwinians, I don't write about religious issues because there is no such thing as a resolution or rational debate when it comes to religion, people will believe what they want and NOBODY is going to change their minds.
