Insurance is a scam and I have simply opted not to buy it. I have found that in the past I paid an ever increasing monthly fee and then office visits and a large portion of any procedure. I have never came out ahead on care received versus cost outlay. The argument given by the insurance industry is that you are covered for a catastrophic illness and that you must keep paying them money for this eventuality. This is complete bull**** and fear mongering worthy of a television evangelist.
A person is much better off setting aside a portion of income each month for healthcare expenses. I don't know about you but if I get a catastrophic illness I don't particularly want to fight it and prolong life for a few years of misery. If I get sick I will do my best to die gracefully. If it is painful and drugs will not ease my pain then I will use my 9mm to end it.
We have become so weak as a society and this weakness is being used on us by government and predatory business interests. How are we so different than the "sod busters" and backwoodsmen and continentals that gave us our DNA? They lived, they did their best to enjoy their hard lives, and then they died. Some fell over a plow, others an arrow or bullet pierced their vitals and some probably most died peacefully in their home and were buried not far from the doorway of their homestead. I would rather have had their life than the well manicured zoo animal life which the 21st century man is living today.
Anyone who was rooting for Obamacare (idiots) should have figured out that instead of taxing the middle class directly for healthcare he was putting his mandates directly on the insurance companies and they would simply pass this cost on to the insured, a.k.a. The TAXPAYER! So it should also be easy to see that because the insurance companies now have to cover the uninsured that premiums will skyrocket. One other nasty little detail is that once you accept insurance from your employer many are requiring you to keep it as a condition of employment unless you bring them proof of insurance through a spouse. This web of government, insurance companies and business is nothing short of an unholy fascist alliance that is economic slavery for our citizens.
