What if you discovered a term that was only USED 5 TIMES on the internet? and one of those times by the US Department of Defense? for a Cyber Crimes Conference? Would that freak you out? It did me... I was in a rant with "The Cypress Gang" and I was trying to be funny (he was succeeding), and I thought of a "term" to describe what I though was going on. I was about to type it... then a thought occurred to me that I should search the history of it... well now I have to make it public to cover my hide!

An innocent term I thought, that was until I found only 5 references in "Google Infinity", and only 3 pics loosely associated with it; let me tell you the term isn't that big of a deal until then. The last reference was to a PDF to which I thought was a "War-Mock-Up Game" or something... but once I Goggled a few names in the dossier I felt a little uneasy. This was a detailed schedule, to as I mentioned a 2009 U.S. DOD Cyber Crime Conference... and the topics covered made the hair on my knuckles stand up!
I am going to give you the 'term' and you will see what I mean.

But before I do I want to tell my wife and kids that love them and will be seeing them soon... if I go off the 'air' so to speak. Another thing I would like to say is I am totally put out for "them" not inviting me to their conference back in 09... Oh yeah, I think I was in Guatemala getting open-heart-surgery by Jesus! The people that we visited were the best examples of living for Christ I have ever seen... yet living in such abstract poverty.
If one ever has a self-esteem problem, go on mission in Guatemala and help someone... and you will see who gets the 'help!'

I got to thinking... why should all the top-secret-guys have all the cool terms... like 007 or Oprah? We too have cool terms that describe our awesomeness like eaters and fodder;
if only we had the hinge on the food market and called ourselves "Monsanto" or something; or ruled cyber search and called ourselves "Google"; but alas these great words were already taken. But what if it was simpler than that? What if all the crime was under one roof? WWHHAATT if it was really a monopoly after all?? and the good stuff wasn't the only thing this monster wanted, what if it wanted to own the bad stuff too??? What if there really was a 'Crimeopoly?'

Here is the Google search that I ran for simply "crimeopoly"...
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=ldym...

See what I mean? I don't know about you but after that, no wonder everyone else uses other terms... or maybe they all have been ERASED? I pity the poor fool that had crimeopoly.com ...I looked, there is not even a record of it being filed, registered or lost; this guy is probably 6 feet under or lost somewhere in the far North!

[ Next time, I'm gonna watch what I think !:]

14 months ago: I have already replaced all of the glass on my windows with Lexan. Might not stop a 50 cal or a tank though. Yep...My phrase..."Google Infinity". I wonder if I should claim my DOT com for "google.infinity.com"? You thing the DOD, DOJ, FBI, ATF will pull a WACO? Like I said before. Just give me 24 hours notice to tell the wife and kids "I Love you" and get them out of the house.

I do have a few nasty tricks justa waiting. Nasty, nasty stuff when combined. My guess is they will pull me over on the street for a burned out lightbulb. Lights Out!

"You have guts my friend... but trust me, you don't want to see them!"
Man, I thought I lost ya'll with this post... thought we'd all be ducking!
The weirdest things I stumble on doing these rants...

As to "Google Infinity" it was "Created on: 25-Jul-05" ...if you have "prior use" you might have a case for a claim....

14 months ago: No the funny thing is all of my nasty stuff is over the counter readily available at local retail. It's all find and dandy to own and used for say...

Lawn care...
Cleaning....
Pool Care....
Vehicle fuel....

etc.

It only gets nasty when provoked.
14 months ago: Ya it even gets nastier if you bought it over the counter from China... like baby formula... or BPA synthetic female hormones... Round Up... slow acting but NASTY!
14 months ago: Who knows...I might have a few cans of paint from China with a higher than normal level of LEAD.

14 months ago: Ah! But then again I might just be "The Artist" named The Cypress Gang.

Would that not be a funny "LIVE" government break in story on CNN?

Pie anyone?
14 months ago: As long as you are not "The Artist" formally known as "Prince!"

...and make mine apple ala-mode!
14 months ago: "apple ala-mode"? Funny. I was thinking more like 2 day old processed apple ala-mode on their face.
14 months ago: So, are you saying a gift of 2ply tax returns are in order?
14 months ago: Only if approved by the FDA and EPA as a positive barrier against a load of 2 day old processed "apple ala-mode" in the face.
14 months ago: Wise-cracker!
14 months ago: cracker? I was wondering when that card would be played.

Now that you mention it. Yep. I own it.
14 months ago: Yer the best! Hahahahahahahahahah!
14 months ago: Now, I have to ask myself if the NSA is confused on how to disect this article and its comments? You think a big Hummph?
14 months ago: Probably think were talking code... or Tea Party invitations...
which would really Palin-comparison !:]
14 months ago: Whoa just a minute! Are you pulling my YOKE?
14 months ago: Night brother. I have to go to work in 8 hours. First thing I need to do before calling it a day is to check all of the lights on my truck.

14 months ago: I'm still reading the pdf file at the bottom of the search results. It takes some digesting. I see there is now a Crimeoploy.com, and somebody came up with a game by the same name.

Some of my favorite section are "warrant less searches of electronic devices" and "infiltrating social networks".
14 months ago: The registration of Crimeopoly.com is new.... you should check it out....
As to the game it looks like it never got off the ground...

I am interested in where you were going with... "warrant less searches of electronic devices" and "infiltrating social networks"

14 months ago: Aha, very clever. Congratulations, papa. But is that legal?

On the pdf of the itinerary of the forensics geek squad, I think they were very careless in putting all that information out there in one place. While some of it is truly laughable, some of it is quite sensitive in nature.

Here's a favorite of mine, from the document in question:

How to Craft Spear Phishing Attacks Using Social Networking

"If you are like us, your e-mail payloads just aren't getting opened by the right people. Who has the time to escalate privileges, compromise the entire network, find your choice target AND THEN get the information you want? Not us! There must be an easier way. Good thing for us, people post information all over the place and as if that is not enough. with a bit of prodding we can get them to be our friend. Like fishing? Support a campaign? The correct answer is: "I do now!"

My second favorite was the one:

Seeing and Defending the Big Picture with Managed Threat Analysis

"Attendees can look over the shoulders of security analysts doing some of the worlds most sophisticated cyber threat analysis as they sift through enormous amounts of data, weeding out insignificant threats from real ones. Learn how to overcome new challenges and cultural resistance to achieve the security and productivity benefits managed security services can bring. Plan to attend this exciting session that discusses the changes in threats and vulnerabilities, and their effect on the practice."

And a runner up was the method of measuring typing cadence as a digital fingerprint.
14 months ago: As far as the name goes one can use it for anything... a blog or something else, as you can see the "name" crimeopoly.com wasn't registered or trademarked... however now it has "use" and in the future "prior-use" on a post or blog. You can sell T-shirts with Crimeopoly as a brand or something else... you get my point.

But you are right, this info is bazaar, if you go to the DOD website they have other doc.s for conferences that spell stuff out like that too... I don't think they are trying to hide anything, it is just advertisement of how proficient they are anyway.

But see what I mean, wild stuff huh?

My concern was having a page from someone else's (RantRave.com) website being claimed by a separate domain name. I personally don't have an issue with it, I was just wondering if it was acceptable practice. Seems like anyone could register a domain name, and have it linked to whatever website they wanted. Say I registered a domain name "we_want_your_shirt_too.com" and had it linked to a page from the IRS.gov website.
14 months ago: I think if I forwarded it to another persons post or profile there would be a problem, I forwarded my blog to my home page @ RantRave so everyone who goes to my blog will go my home page... let me know if that is a problem, because in essence this is the same with crimeopoly.com ...it is just forwarded to this rant post, like my blog.... be happy to change it if necessary.

Globalopolis.org is the same... just another way to generate traffic to my posts... not like it is linked to an add trying to make false PPC's.

14 months ago: Silly, you can't get a PaPerCut from a web page. (It's not real paper, you know.) I would think that technically, your page here is your own intellectual property, and the more you link to it, the better it is for RR.com, as well as yourself. I know some companies have kicked about deeplinks to pages within a website, on the grounds that it detracts from their home page.

The other possibility is that RR has used considerable resources in setting up and promoting this venue, and they could consider assigning a separate domain name to a page within their domain as trespassing.

I'll leave it up to you to contact admin. and get their feelings on the matter.
