But marketing executives know that sex sells. Casual nudity is used to sell perfumes, shampoo, and fashionable clothing in Europe. Here in the U.S., brands like Dolce and Gabanna and American Apparel are always pushing to blur the lines of sexuality and advertising.
If your brand is dying, just throw some skin out there. Reebok's cashing in on a new "Chuck Liddell and Heidi Northcutt workout video," which basically crosses the line into softcore porn. Classy.
In the video, UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell and his girlfriend Heidi Northcutt work out nude in a home gym. The clever bit is that they're wearing nothing but Reebok shoes.
See, I don't get the point of Reebok's 'Heidi Northcutt/Chuck Liddell workout video." Sure, they're going to get a lot of people to see the video, but will it really improve the Reebok brand? Will anyone go out and buy their shoes? I doubt it.
As for the actual content of the video, apparently Chuck Liddell's girlfriend, Heidi Northcutt, uses a stair machine while Chuck does some pull-ups and squat-thrusts. Yuck. That doesn't sound too appealing to me. I haven't watched the Heidi Northcutt/Chuck Liddell workout video, but if you're interested, you could hit up TMZ or a similar site.
Do let me know if you do end up buying a pair of Reebok shoes because you watched the Heidi Northcutt/Chuck Liddell workout video. I'd be shocked.
