Christmas lights still up

Hey people…its now January 31st and your Christmas lights are still up and turned on….really…so are you just so festive you're going to keep on the Christmas roll for as long as you can… or is this just your unmanageable life screaming out at you saying get off the couch take a half hour and take um down….really!
I understand the spirit of Christmas lasting in our hearts throughout the year, bringing joy and happiness to the people throughout the land, but at some point I think we just tuck it in, hold it close and maybe move on to the next festive experience. Valentine's Day is upon us, and although I'm not a fan of these forced holidays and gift giving, I can say that it's defiantly time to take the tree to the boy scouts, get out the storable tubs, and call it a holiday!
Which brings me to the next subject…lets call it "HALMARK HALODAYS" I fell so violated that big business..(Producers or teddy bears and heart shaped boxes of cheep candy) have made us feel so inadequate if we don't go out and buy a Lexus or the forever diamond for or loved one. What about the people who don't have a loved one, or just lost a loved one, or who will never know a loved one. Im sure seeing the commercials and stands in the supermarkets makes them feel like crap and I'm sure if you took a survey, these kinds of holidays do more emotional harm to the people that can't participate then the people who can and already feel good about themselves and don't need the validation.

I can't get my stuff put away even my tree is staring me in the face. I'm hoping a little bit at a time each day.
The saddest thing I ever heard was when a guy I knew from town said about Christmas that" it is just another day." I didn't understand how anyone could feel that way until this economy wiped most of out.
Funny how we can still find that spirit of the holidays, and if we don't have it, it finds us.
