Can we change the future?

A great party, but was it worth it?

God gave us free will, the question is does He cheat? When God gave Adam and his mate, free will, the freedom to chose did He know that Adam would sin? And that God the Son would have to come to Earth to redeem mankind?

What occurred was the result of man's choice? Had Adam not sinned would we still be in the Garden? This is what I think, We are the ones that change our future, But God will work with us.

The Israelites were told that Moses would lead them to the promise land, and they would have gone directly there, but because of the bellyaching, and because they did not trust and believe God, He was not very happy. But what really took the cake is when Moses went on the top to the mountain to receive God's Ten commandants, they could not even wait for a few weeks.

They all built a golden calf and went into full party mode, and I mean erotic behavior, they were given the opportunity to repent, as Moses said "all who are on God's side cross over and join me"

those who did lived and those who did not died.

The result was that every one paid the price, going around the mountain for 40 Years, and only two of the original people went into the promise land, because they had a personal relationship with Him. (Joshua and Caleb)

God had to change his plans because of their sins. A forty year extension to his original plans. But He has all the time in the World.

So there is the lesson, obey His commandments, do good, and you will go directly to His promises, if not it make take you years. And some make not make it at all.

No. We cannot. For the simple reason that it has not happened yet. You cannot change something that does not as yet exist.

Ah, Edward, actually so far as I can tell, the only adults who left Egypt with Moses and actually ENTERED the holy land were Caleb and Joshuah. Ever other adult - including Moses, Aaron and Miriam - died in the wilderness. But it wasn't about the golden calf. It was about the response to the report of the 12 spies. That was what got most of them killed. I don't remember what got Aaron and Miriam killed, but Moses lost his chance to enter the promised land because he took credit for God's action in bring forth water from a rock.

And they DID not "[go] around the mountain for 40 Years". They wandered int the wilderness of the Sinai peninsula for 40 years. When Moses was getting the first set of tablets, the Israelites camped at the base of the mountains of Sinai.

You really need to study your Bible more.

But it was the lack of faith, in Him that caused a 40 year delay.
* Worshiping an Idol, after He just parted the Red sea, and more.
* The report of the spies was also a lack of faith, "If God is for us, who can be against us"
* Moses did not enter because he lost his temper, and struck the rock, instead of just speaking to it.
But I believe that our future can be changed by our response, just as you said,
if the spies had said, there are really big giants Lord, but if you are with us. No problem. Forgiveness or unforgivingness another way that we can change our future. Thanks for your input
