"the biggest heroin and cocaine trading institutions in the world are the militaries of Burma, Pakistan, Mexico, Peru and Colombia – 'all armed and trained by U.S. military intelligence in the name of anti-drug efforts' ...Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to carry out such a duplicitous policy in the interest of a "war on drugs and a war on terror." As the book properly concludes, this war is, in fact, "a war for drugs and of terror.""

"'Cocaine, Death Squads, and the War on Terror: U.S. Imperialism and Class Struggle in Colombia' ...Since the late 1990s, the United States has funneled billions of dollars in aid to Colombia, ostensibly to combat the illicit drug trade and State Department-designated terrorist groups... which is not interested in eradicating cocaine but in gaining a monopoly over its production."

"CIA funnels drugs into poor US neighborhoods... The CIA's policy of looking the other way wasn't just for the benefit of big business or crushing revolutionary movements abroad.Domestically, drugs and drug lords were used to quell black activist movements that challenged the status quo..."

Sometimes I get into a Rant or Rave and take for granted that the reader will naturally follow the links and the videos in the video section, I would encourage everyone to do just that if they have the time. It is of major importance to understand the reasons behind the claims and the proofs presented. Some would whole-heatedly agree with the CIA's involvement in drug smuggling, while others would not... mine, is merely the job of presenting some evidence and opinion, for educational purposes only.

For starters I don't think that America can or will do anything about cleaning up it's CIA.
It is a monster too big to control, at best America can hope it will keep most of it's dastardly deeds hidden, and the "fall-out off-shore". Yet despite efforts to hush the noise of exposure, more Americans no longer question "involvement", rather it questions "patriotism" of those who would dare bring to light any dark secrets. The problem with letting "sleeping dogs lie" is they may just be resting up for their next attack...
and you know it's too late when you see people pull the "patriot" card over evidence!

Some will even admit that there "was" obvious CIA involvement in drug smuggling, but they say that was in the past... my question is... What have they been doing since they got caught in the first place? They just got better! And "doing dirt" is what they seem to do best! Does anyone think that these "special" agencies and forces that start and end wars all over the world, actually have a conscience or morals? Would one think them to be of superior nature and of sound judgment? Are these the "good guys"
...or should we be looking for others to be the lords of our destiny?

13 months ago: Interesting thesis. We know that Reagan started this by paying for his Contra War by drug trafficking.

This is backed up by what happened in Afghanistan. The Taliban had eliminated 90% of the opium production since the use and profiting from drugs is forbidden according to Sharia law.

Then when the Northern Alliance overthrew the Taliban, Afghanistan became the #1 opium producer in the world producing 95% of the opium used in Europe.

The official reason that we allowed all of the poppy fields to remain and prosper is that we didn't want to hurt the ability of the local farmers to make a living. I personally think (with no evidence whatsoever) that our guys made a deal with the Northern alliance that if they kicked the Taliban out that we would give them free rein.
