The Secretary of State of the United States of America was speaking, somewhere it seems in Al's neighborhood, about how wonderful the democratic process going on in Egypt was and a little, old man, who happened to be a Veteran of the United States of America stood up to silently protest by turning his back on her highness.

The only word heard from him was "This is America. This is America. Who are you?" as he was forceably dragged and essentially beaten and bloodied from the room.

15 months ago: I give the dumb barstids in Egypt two years tops before they start looking back to the "good old days" under Mubaric. When the Egyptian branch of the Taliban takes over, they're gonna WISH they had a regular old dictator.

The REAL fun will begin when the hard-line Muslim Brotherhood boys running Egypt decide to close the Suez Canal to any country not Muslim. I figure the other nations are gonna stand still for THAT really well.

15 months ago: This is probably one of the best things on R&R right now, if not in a long time, and it should be reposted as a rant. It is one better that the Clash's "Guns of Brixton," which my son has sung, word for word, from the time he was 3 -- I even have a recording of it done at his auntie's studio -- maybe I'll see if he can put this to music himself, I'll let you know.

That said, remember, when the goons come rolling, they will be at the behest of the power brokers who control the government -- it's not like some bureaucratic gub'mint workers and mid-level military officers are gonna be calling the shots, no, of course, it will be those who have the money=power.

What really pisses me off is that Ray McGovern was treated with such disrespect in America: if we can't pose like a good democracy, which rhymes with hypocrisy, than what will they think in the Autocracies? Oh, wait, maybe America has a bit of the Autocracy flu too...yah think? Maybe that's what is meant by corpratocracy: a single entity that thinks as one, and therein colludes together so as to manipulate the _free market_, making the "American Dream" seem like an illusion and our government seem corrupt...which is why you guys hate government in the first place.

I am once again of the belief that we folks left and right of center meet up around the back of the circle/ dark side of the moon.

15 months ago: That little old man was none other than Ray McGovern. An ex CIA operative, who has butted heads with Rumsfeld, and several other high ranking officials. Clinton's security went way overboard, when all he was doing this time was standing quietly with his back to her. I don't expect there will be a lot in the media about this.
