About a month ago there was an incident in my town involving a blind cat and a cop. A blind cat somehow managed to get out of its owners home and wander around town. A cop thought it may be rabid so he took the cat to a field and proceeded to shoot it twice and throw it in a local dumpster. After the incident the county prosecuting attorney was bombarded with hundreds of angry emails from citizens of the county outraged by the incident.
The same week a father was sent to jail for molesting his own daughter among other disgusting acts. This story was barley publicised. How many emails do you think the prosecuting attorney and her team received about this from outraged citizens? Zero.
Do not get me wrong, I am disgusted by the cat incident and believe that the cop should be punished to the fullest extent, I am baffled at the fact that not one email was sent regarding the poor young girl, yet hundreds regarding the cat.
I came across this information at a class I attend for my job, and it was a real eye opener. The class was over Missing and Exploited children, facts and statistics. It is shocking how half of these children's stories never make it to the news or papers. How I hear of a blind cat before a three year old girl. Nothing pains me more than a child's unheard cries and battle for justice.
