SuperRant: Bill O’Reilly/Michael Jackson.

That Bill O’Reilly is a jerkface and a half. Check out his new Rant to the left – Bill O’Reilly vs. Michael Jackson.

Last night he started his show (I don’t watch it, I just saw the YouTube video) by saying that he would respect MJ’s family, then he turned around and freakin’ bit Michael Jackon’s head off. Bill O’Reilly seriously made fun of MJ’s skin color, spending money he earned as an artist, and that he had kids that were white.

Then, Bill O’Reilly mocked the media for covering Michael Jackson’s memorial service – even though FOX News covered it just as much as any other station. And what does he call himself? Is he not part of the media? Stupid hypocrite.

Then, in a particularly stimulating part of his show, Bill O’Reilly brought on a commentator to yell about how Michael Jackson didn’t want to be black and how the black community shouldn’t accept him anymore. Nice.

Anyways, watch the clip if you feel like draining some of your brain away. Sheesh.

34 months ago: Fox is busy cornering the market on the Michael Jackson backlash. Now that they own it, maybe they can stop.
34 months ago: why? Can you prove them wrong? I'll be waiting on your official documentation.

34 months ago: Jackson a hero? I think he's misreading the coverage. The message seems to be that he was conflicted: not all great, not all bad. Like most people.

Fox is throwing more red meat to a certain group: people fed up with crass celebrity culture, unless they're busy buying O'Reilly's bumper stickers, doormats, books, newsletters, going to his book signings, cheering on his "reporters" lying in wait for Janeane Garofalo, etc. And is the irony completely lost on everyone that this criticism of celebrity comes from a man who once cashed "Inside Edition's" paycheck--a tabloid television news journal!!!

We all love celebrity in this society: we just define it differently.

I haven't heard it if it's out there, but I'd be interested to know what O'Reilly's take on Rush Limbaugh's doc-shopping for prescription pain killers. Did he use the same scorn he used for Jackson's "probable overdose" from prescription drugs?
34 months ago: I feel as unreceptive as many of us may be about this, Bill is in effect shining the light on the "flip side" of things. We need this type of coverage on subjects or else we all become fashion fad zombies and following someone else's ideas of how we should interpret things.
We don't have to buy into people such as Bill O'Reilly's take on matters. What is important is that we look objectively at everyone's perspective and then use reason to establish the parameters of truth on the matter.
I for one am glad for the Bill O'Reilly's who regardless of it being "popular" or not presents different angles on the subject. Doesn't mean I agree with all those angles I just like the option of viewing them.
34 months ago: Who died?
34 months ago: A pedophile who escaped imprisonment. A talented dancer who could sing a little and manipulate the media. A genuinely WEIRD man who destroyed his looks with plastic surgery and his health with drugs. A cash-strapped City of Los Angeles just spent $1.3 million to provide security for the "memorial" service, which turned into a venue for hysterical tears, manipulation and exploitation of children...oh, but that was what he did in life, wasn't it?
34 months ago: zoo, I think you just said what many have thought here lately.
Was the guy talented? Sure but he was also strange to the point of being down right weird. Did he molest those boys? Doesn't really matter because as much money as he had, bringing young boys to his "ranch" was a bonehead move and he was asking for lawsuits by doing such.
I realize a person died and there are people sensitive to this but I feel Bill O'Rielly is saying that MJ is a public figure and has utilized the public to make a very comfortable life (for the most part). So now in reviewing his life we should not just gloss over all the questionable things and put him up for sainthood. Is it to early to be looking at the bad as well as the good? Maybe, however again he is a public figure and it goes with the territory in my opinion.
