During August, unemployment rate in U.S. remained unchanged. It's interesting to note how major news outlets presented this news.
9.1% unemployment rate is not something that you could be proud of, but still, it isn't something to be shunned aside.
Well, according to
NY Times home page, the major news of the day is that Port Jervis train repair will take months to complete. While I sympathize with 2,300 commuters on Port Jervis line, I am sure that the news that impacts entire nation could maybe earn priority. As an afterthought, NY Times does mention that expected 60,000 jobs were not created in August. Same importance was also given to the news that some Republicans whine and complain that President maybe shouldn't abuse the system and ask to give speech at the same time when GOP debate was scheduled.
At the same time,
FOX News prominently displays that this is the weakest jobs report since September 2010 and that it clearly shows that the Obama administration must change course. For FOX, it seems that no other news is news worthy!
Meanwhile, The White House official blog urges people not to read too much into any one monthly jobs report and provides remarkable solution to the issue. The White House says that "
faster growth is needed to replace the jobs lost in the downturn." If I didn't read that, I really wouldn't know how easy it is to solve the unemployment in U.S.
It seams that "
bipartisan" is the only word that is totally unknown in today's media outlets. The rift between the parties has grown so big that nobody can make the system work as it should - jointly! Meanwhile, U.S. is looking at the next big recession and hoping it will not turn into
Great Depression II.
Good luck America, wherever you are...
