Listening to the round of arguments supporting Obamacare made me think long and hard about the logic behind them. What really irks me is when Nancy Pelosi states that FDR's Social Security and LBJ's Medicare were unpopular before they were enacted and now they are "popular" among the American people. I say, are they? No. Not to anyone with an IQ greater than that of a Jimmy Carter peanut.
There are nothing but complaints by the American people about both programs. Social Security offers subsistence right around the poverty level, that's a level of security I can do with out. Doctor's don't want to accept Medicare patients because of the low level of reimbursement they receive. This drives them to use the large bureaucracy against itself in order to "cheat" the system to get their just compensation. Both programs require the recipient to fill out forms, forms, and more complicated forms to receive back what the government coerced from them to begin with.
Etienne de La Boetie, a 16th century political philosopher once said,
Tyrants would distribute largess, a bushel of wheat, a gallon of wine, and a sesterce: and then everybody would shamelessly cry, "Long live the King!" The fools did not realize that they were merely recovering a portion of their own property, and that their ruler could not have given them what they were receiving without having first taken it from them.
And I now ask of Nancy, Harry, Barry O, and all your cohorts in D.C., do you think we are still the "fools" of the 16th century? Do you think theses social boondoggles are really popular because of their merit?
The American people are not the "fools" of centuries past. We have been enlightened by the works of Cato, St. Thomas Aquinas, Blackstone, Adam Smith, Locke, Frederich Bastiat, La Boetie, Jefferson Washington, Madison and all the Founding Fathers, Ludwig von Mises, F.A. Hayek, Murray Rothbard, Lew Rockwell, Ron Paul, among others. You are the "FOOLS" because what you think is popularity,
we know is just the American people demanding back the property you and the rest of D.C. has been stealing from us through your unjust taxing for basically all of our lives.
