Aliens Among Us?

We humans have been trying to contact aliens now for quiet sometime. The scenario that presents before us whenever we dream of first contact is that an alien species will respond to our signals by bestowing upon us a wealth of superior knowledge and then welcome us as part of the intergalactic federation of life sustaining planets. This scenario of course is only feasible if they haven't already been studying us for generations or if as some have postulated they didn't actually seed this blue-green ball with their alien sperm and in either case are already among us and have some diabolical purpose reserved for the future of humanity that doesn't at all involve us becoming part of their intergalactic federation of mumbo jumbos.

So which is it? Are they among us or are they on their way? I've thought about this conundrum in light of my Christian faith, which by the way some say is lacking because I don't believe in a Trinity of God and I've come to a few other scenarios that haven't been thought of or at the very least discussed.

1. Aliens tried contact but failed! What if other life forms tried to contact other intelligent civilizations before us but failed. What if their solar system died long before we were even space faring? What if there is some intergalactic interference or dead zone preventing contact? What if there are millions of planets out their but we just can't reach each other?

2. Aliens got our message and they are coming! What if the last remnants of warring alien races that destroyed their solar systems and are now on resource limited space vessels all heard our message at the same time and are now on their way to each gain our sympathy for their cause. What if they land in different parts of the world and we all side with different ones of these alien races?

Interesting possibilities, wouldn't you agree?

11 months ago: It's always interesting to look up at the sky and wonder if anyone is looking back.
11 months ago: Thanks for the feedback. It might be more than interesting if it pans out that someone is looking back.
11 months ago: DJ,

The bible says that Adam was the first created man... God could find no other to till the ground so he made man.... this leaves out the E.T. option... otherwise God would have moved him to earth...

"...the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground" (Genesis 2:5)

11 months ago: Ahh TB, so you subscribe to the earth being God's first created world with intelligent life? Why, yes you do! It makes sense that you would. I guess you then disregard all the stars in the sky whose lights take millions and billions of years to reach us, some of which their sources have long been extinguished, huh? Perhaps Biblical proof is also not good enough for you when it says that one third of the stars of heaven fell. What is our star called TB? I know, I know, they are not actual stars with inhabited planets but instead genderless beings in white robes and big white wings. Right?
11 months ago: DJ,

Much better mug-shot!

That said, God said...

"I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host" (Isaiah 45:12)

I said this before, as God created Adam and Eve with "age" fully developed and mature... God did the same with the Universe. HE stretched out the Heavens to be expanded far beyond their physical limits.... science cannot explain this possibility without "quantum science". My take is... God said it, evidence to prove it...
good enough !:]
11 months ago: Thanks! I kind of like this picture better too . To bad I'm not half as good looking as the actual Dwayne Johnson is!

So TB let me ask you then, What do you suppose God was doing for eternity past before he decided to make the earth? A young Universe belief is a relic from the days when people thought the earth was the center of the Universe. You don't still believe that too, do you?
11 months ago: DJ,

IF you check the facts, the second law of thermodynamics you find everything degrading and coming undone... that being said it must have come from an ultimate state, perfection if you will. IF everything is going "down" then it must have come from "up" ...and this my friend has you grasping at this moment... because as everything came from a particular time, or starting point, then by reason all we see is temporal. Thus in the light of "eternity" all we see is young in comparison !:]

AS to what God was doing in eternity past before creating this world... I wonder if He wasn't planning every possible scenario out to make sure we could have a chance... yet living with free will... and ignorance on purpose !:]
11 months ago: I think your over simplification has, unintentionally perhaps, buried certain facts. There is a bumper sticker that I as a Christian with a deep curiosity for all things scientific absolutely loves. It reads as follows, "THE BIG BANG THEORY: God spoke and bang it happened!" This bumper sticker summarizes what scientist deconstruct. No Christian or Jew for that matter would deny that the creative force behind all that is comes from one source, God. And no Scientist would deny that the formation of the Universe had a process that can be deconstructed.

But it is between these two ideas that these apposing ideas fail to find common ground because Christians especially don't believe that a spoken command to exist could have a creative process and scientist especially atheist ones can't believe that a creative process that can be deconstructed could come from a sentient being, especially an eternal one. But deconstruct it we can and deconstruct it we must and in so doing we find those facts that you my deer TB are overlooking and that is that space time is spread out over billions of our life times.

In Genesis God speaks about the Creation in terms of six days. It ascribes separate days for the division of light and dark , which is the creation of night and day and the creation of the heavenly bodies including the stars, our moon and of all things the sun, a conundrum that critics love to well…criticize but to me all it says is that the creation process did not happen all at one time but that it was a multi-day process and that our creation is not the only one that God has been involved in and between these creations exist time, space and dimensions of which we can't even begin to conceive.
11 months ago: DJ,

IF God rested on the seventh day.... how many "billion years" did He rest?
We must take scriptures literally unless contextually they are figurative.
11 months ago: If he rersted on the Seventh day? Why then do Christians not follow his example?
11 months ago: DJ,

Now we are getting into the meat and potatoes... I am going to cheat a bit and give you a link that gives a good teaching on "the rest of God"...I have studied this out and it would take pages to explain, however if you have any questions after this read, I would be happy to indulge...

11 months ago: Oh boy, more rhetoric! Why do you have to make the simple complex? According to Evangelicals God worked six literal days and rested on the seventh. Blessing it and setting it apart and designating it for holy use. After The Jewish captivity in Egypt when God's people had practically forgotten everything he had taught them. God then Reminded the Jews about this very important day by saying REMEMBER the Sabbath day to keep it holy. They haven't forgotten it since but surprisingly the very Christians who keep talking about a six day Creation are the ones going through hell and high water to avoid having to observe this very important day and all I want to know is, ":Why?" Give me a direct answer please, one sentence, okay?
