Okay, so this has really gotten under my skin since I went to hear Dr. Naim Akbar give a talk at my school recently. He made it pretty clear that the African American race was superior and that white america "Owed" African Americans some sort of preference to make up for slavery.

I must say, i have seen the studies where they mail out the resumes and the only thing that is different is the picture on the front (white vs. black person) and the white guy gets the job more often. But Affirmative Action really makes my a$$ itch.

I have had it with quotas, etc, which have been illegal for a long time.

I have had it with preferential treatment to minorities, which in P.I.C.S. v Seattle, the Supreme Court was clear that was a "no no."

Affirmative action is just as unconstitutional as slavery, segregation, and discrimination are.

The funny thing is, I have never heard people mention the persecution of Catholics in this country. My great grand father wasn't permitted to graduate from a PUBLIC Philadelphia high school because he was an Irish Catholic. You don't hear my family whining about the spanish inquisition.

The Supreme Court has all but destroyed Affirmative Action except in name, so why on earth is it still happening, it's discrimination!!!!

If you have been a victim of affirmative action or quotas, you can report it using the first link in the side bar.

ATTENTION: I am not a racist or a bigot, so please refrain from calling me that in the comments. I'm all for equality, let's just make sure it's equal. I know things that are unconstitutional when i see them.

Secondly, anyone who argues that you can right the wrongs of the past by rewarding the descendants of the victims of the wrongs is, well, wrong. Just as giving you $100,000 for the discrimination against your great grandfather would do nothing but load your ATM card. It wouldn't give your great grandfather anything. The only way to right the wrongs is end them now and move on.

The problem is Affirmative Action is still used, but they just don't call it that. The United Negro College Fund is a good example, I'm white, it's not going to help me at all. Whether or not you get a scholarship shouldn't be based on the color of you skin at all, it should be based on merit.

I am all for equality, but in the words of Chief Justice John Roberts,“The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race, is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.”

This was when I was in eighth grade and thought that if I wrote about it being wrong that my African American english teacher would fail me! I am also not a racist but I do believe that everyone deserves a fair chance and favoring one race over the other in anyway is unacceptable. The most qualified person should be hired...regardless of race. If both people are equally qualified, it should be up to the discretion of the employer.
