Adam Lambert Robbed - Election Fraud

The votes are in and tabulated. And Adam Lambert looses the AI crown. Did Adam loose because he was less popular? No. Did he loose because he was less talented? No. He lost because American Idol let a few thousand dedicated fans cast millions of votes:

- According to AT&T, 38 million votes came from Arkansas, that's about 40% of the total vote. Even more votes from Arkansas residents where placed in other time zones.

- The #1 Kris Allen fansite, krisallennation.com, organized thousands of people to vote for 8 hours and run up big totals. From this site:

"UPDATE: 105 people who have reported their votes voted a staggering 436,650 times last night. That's an average of 4,158 votes per person. Keep reporting your votes and we'll keep updating."

- Fans increased their voting power by calling from multiple time zones using Gizmo and Go phones.

- One fan used 3 Go phones can set up a call list of 20 people and generate 40,000 text votes in one night. There are many people who reported doing this.

- Many fans from outside the US voted. International voting via Gizmo was actively promoted on Kris fan sites.

The American Idol producers could have rejected the votes of these mass texters and the votes that came through Gizmo, but they didn't. Once again proving that there is no integrity to AI voting and that the published voting rules don't matter.

Why not? Because the vote result doesn't matter, they only care about giving the impression it matters. Plus, since Kris won over Adam they get 2 high-selling artists instead of just one. Like Daughtry, Adam will go on to sell millions, everyone already knows this, and he IS under contract regardless (the top 12 all are). So the AI producers double their sales by having someone ELSE win (has been done many times before) and give the "Idol Winner" title boost to someone who needs the title for the extra sales.

American Idol is not a talent competition, it is a very carefully orchastrated realty TV show. A realty TV show that has become tired and predictable. A realty TV show that will continue to drop in the ratings. And has lost at least one more viewer.

I know so many people in my own family and circle of friends, who said it didn’t matter how talented Adam was, he was gay and they were going to vote for Kris.. They said since the real winner Danny Gokey got voted off, all their votes were going to Kris.. Kris’s fans and others can say that Adam's suggested gender preference wasn’t the case but when you are surrounded by bigots like I am, it makes you wonder how many more are out there that voted for Kris.. I am a Christian Conservative also but I chose the talent not who or what they were.. Congrats Kris you are a super nice guy and a good singer, but you know as we all know who really deserved the American Idol title..
32 months ago: INDIANA, you took the words right out of my "fingers!"

The ONLY way the voting could ACTUALLY represent America's choice is to only allow ONE VOTE PER PHONE.

I could care less about American Idol (though I find all these posts fascinating!) but I've never thought it was fair to let people vote more than once in ANY competition. It skews the odds and makes it not "up to America" to vote, but up to the select few who vote TONS of times.

Until they make it so each person can only vote a limited number of times, or just once, all reality shows where the winner is based on America's votes will remain dominated by a dozen.

Guys, on the brighter side, Adam now has an offiical website. www.adamofficial.com. There are over 1,000 people already signed up. there's a video message on the home page from Adam thanking all of us for voting....there's forums to chat..go ahead and join up!

32 months ago: huh, let's see here, you care why?

here's why you shouldn't, as you said, top 12 get contracts. Adam will sell plenty of records and will probably never have to worry about money again.

Personally, i couldn't care less, we all know corporate america just does what they want. this shouldn't be a surprise to any of you.

It made no sense to me that the contestant who topped the trending topics on Twitter, overwhelmed the others in Google searches, had the best bookie odds and on and on would not have won. Adam Lambert really did save this show. I officially hate Arkansas and all those uber Christian conservatives who just couldn't see beyond their provincial prejudices. I also officially hate the American Idol machine, the voting process that allows these megavoters to steal the contest. They really ought to have some sort of limit on these things. I really don't think I will ever watch that show again, I feel so jaded by this whole thing.
That said, I do not hate the winner. It's not his fault, just as the stupid flood of Adam Lambert photos in high glam or man kisses on the Internet or the fawning of him by the judges and media was not Adam's fault.
It should have been a show to award the best talent. Not this. The show will never be seen the same way again. If we hadn't before, it's very clear that this show has gotten too full of itself.
America chose the safe one again. Disappointing, not surprising and in a way sad for the winner, who will always, always be overshadowed by Adam Lambert. Best of luck to him. But Adam's star will still keep rising higher and brighter with or without some TV show title. That will be the real prize.

32 months ago: The fact is that Adam's loss is such an insult to singing, performing, stage presence and brilliance that I have no reason to watch the program ever again, and that's not cutting off my nose to spite my face.

This is 100% AI's fault. The fact people can use super digital gadgets and special electronic gadgets that call in over and over and over on a timed sequence that first captures the line's cadence is flatly ridiculous.

That AI feels it needs to be able to announce how many millions of people called in, is pitiful.

One caller, one vote, that should be it . And don't say "Adam's supporters could have done the same," because it's not the point. It wouldn't have been right that he won either had his fan base employed the same tactics.

Bottom line, if AI wants to have a "Hottest Looks, Talent Doesn't Necessarily Count" contest and allow the contestants to sing or dance or juggle or tell jokes, fine, then rename the show accordingly. But don't call it a singing contest in which the vote doesn't reflect anything more than who owns the most advanced digital auto-dialers, etc.

Simon Fuller, shame on you. What part of AI is a legitimate contest? Not the first note, pal, not with a voting system like you're suggesting is fair, impartial and
accurate.

32 months ago: Yes, Kris Allen won AI season 8. However, he is not the true idol discovered this year. Kris did not deserve to share the stage with Adam Lambert. He simply cannot hang. Adam Lambert is a much better performer, with his awesome voice, incredible range, and amazing stage presence. Kris Allen is unsure of himself, his voice is weak, his range is non existent, and all I see in his future is another Taylor Hicks. Yes, he won. But can he make it? Will he last?

32 months ago: In Kris' position I would surrender the trophy,
truly I would. He can't look at the reports on
voting and truly believe he won except by chicanery,
and how real or satisfying can such a win be to
anybody?

He'd emerge as something much more special than the
American Idol in doing so.

Adam would never allow such a thing to happen. He'd
refuse the trophy and well he should because he'd lose
just as much as Kris gained through such a gesture.

So far, perfect.

Then Kris takes the last step which is to turn the
trophy back over to American Idol and say it's very
apparent who won, and step DOWN. AI would then give
the trophy to Adam in default and he would refuse it
too.

Adam and Kris would emerge as TRUE CO-CHAMPIONS,
leaving American Idol holding the hot potato, and
next year, we'd see some real changes.
32 months ago: The votes were rigged! AT&T and AI execs colluded - them and the aliens who wanted to enslave us all. Now where's my tinfoil hat? The voting is unfair! Only Kris fans voted multiple times, only they know how to use text messages to its fullest, we Adam fans are luddites so we don't know that we can power-vote. We got busy signals and as soon as we got one vote in, we stopped voting. It should only be one vote per person, and to prevent cheating, we need to enter our SS number, driver's licenses, a credit card, and DNA sample. That will also prevent the tweens, who the companies don't care about because they can't sell to them (notice how Disney channel and Nickelodeon are commercial free?), from voting.

We all know that Adam is the most talented AI contestant ever - no, he's a world idol, because he's the mostest talented singer in the whole wide world - check that, he's unequaled in the whole galaxy - come to think of it, it was his almighty singing that caused the big bang! Adam deserved to win because the only talent recognized is how high you can hold a note. If you listen to the radio, they only play Celine Dion and Whitney Houston one after the other - nobody else! So he'll be more successful! You watch, soon it'll be the triumvirate of Adam, Celine, and Whitney on the radio all-day, everyday. Yaay! Adam should have won if not for the homophobic Americans. Since Adam is gay and you didn't vote for him, you all must be homophobic! I also blame the tweens, toddlers, and even newborns whose fingers are so little, it's easy for them to text their hearts out.

I would like to move on with my life, but I figured I'd stay bitter since Adam is the most important thing in the world - nobody cares about poverty, child slavery, diseases or global warming.
32 months ago: Philip...your comment is so funny! I'm in the pyrenees and I'm laughing my head off. Don't get me wrong ...I'm a big Adam Lambert fan...and although I know your comment is tongue in cheek, you have quiet wonderfully summed up the feeling of the whole competition. I love it! Very funny, but also very true. I think it's a good thing to not take ourselves too seriously sometimes. On the upside if you're an adam Lambert fan like me, you'll have had a blast watching him this series, and like me you'll be looking forward to what he does next. What you've highlighted is that despite world poverty and economic breakdown, we've had a great time with Adam, and that's a good thing in my books. What a fun ride it's been ..and what a talent!
32 months ago: In response to the slight cynicism of your comment though Philip....I would say that if you've watched this series from beginning to end you'd understand that the feeling has been that we've been witnessing a world talent breaking through. So despite there being serious things to deal with in the world like world poverty, there are also things to be marvelled at and celebrated. A world star is not something that comes around every day. Elvis...freddie mercury...they've created a lot of love and happiness in the world. And for a lot of people Adam Lambert could be the next big thing. And yes we have yet to see how it pans out...but that's the level of buzz in the air. And when you consider that people from all over the world have been caught up in his performances..people in china, india, Vietnam, australia, new zealand, all over europe...it's no small thing what this young, talented man has achieved and is more than likely going to achieve. And he's done it all despite being gay, wearing make up, nail polish and dyed hair..no small feat. So it's ok by me to get excited about this and let a little fun, love and happiness into your life...even though world poverty continues. But saying all that I still loved your rant...no real attack on you at all...it didn't half give me a good laugh...well said for the comedy side of it!

I THINK THIS PRETTY MUCH SUMS UP THE ELECTION FRAUD THEORY...KRIS SHOULD NOT BE THE AMERICAN IDOL.

32 months ago: I saw that article last night -- and in the New York Times, no less, and I felt such vindication but also a little sadness. Not like they will take the crown from Kris, nor, really, would I want them to do that. It just proves what many of us have been saying all along. I SUGGEST THAT WE CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE STORY OUT THERE. I'VE PUT IT OUT THERE ON TWITTER AND FACEBOOK AND I HAVE SEEN OTHERS DOING THE SAME.
No matter what, the results of this show are tainted and there will always be that cloud over Kris no matter how nice and talented a guy he is. Idol producers are smart to play up more the Kris-Adam thing because they know what's up. And again, this is far easier to take because Adam and Kris are such friends. There would be outright rage if it had been Danny-Adam, I guarantee you. Adam's graciousness has also helped to soften the blow. And there is this: No matter the outcome, it is clear that Adam is still the star, and you can tell that Kris knows that as well. It's just now we know how much more of a star he really is.

If they can put in a 13th contestant and save 1 person, then they can crown two worthy opponents ~Kris and Adam~.. Since the title really belonged to Adam he should have a crown also.. Just my opinion..
