Headlines reading "Jobs working on iPad2" News flashes ending with "Steve Jobs still firmly in control," I'm seeing a whole lot of Jobs and I have to wonder why. I mean sure we're getting ready for a big roll out and Uncle Steve is still the most recognizable face at Apple. Oh and he's dead. No ? Oh Wait he's Twitter Dead? Oh he's in the hospital. Oh my god. Sell sell sell.
That's right it cost Apple 10 billion dollars in four minutes. And you didn't even hear about it on Twitter. Well I didn't, I'm not a good follower. Seems like a ton of investors are though. Following something. Personally I think their following the fact that Apple cant possibly succeed at total world domination. And that was exactly what the investors had signed on for. World domination and pizza for lunch. It's all right there in the contract.
10 million! Because a guy one guy may or may not be in the hospital? Does this sound like a cult to you? Anthropologists in 2000 years are going to think Steve Jobs was the great CRT God of Cupertino. Not the nerd turned rock star, Super Steve Jobs.
The End is near. I'm saying it. I've been saying it. Once there is a choice people will simply choose to leave Apple and their "I'm better then you appliances" in the dust. Wholesale migration to the open source, Platforms come and go. Apple has proven how it plans to move forward. It has shown that it cant be trusted by its media partners. It's only a matter of time before all the feel good, feels gone.
I hope Steve Jobs is feeling ok. I don't envy him and would never make light of anyone in poor health. I am assured that he will get the best treatment available. I wish him godspeed in his recovery. Then I hope he retires and finds the time to enjoy what he has built.
