Acts 8:27."And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,"
Do you know who is an eunuch? I have come across this word in many Scripture but was never quite sure of what it meant, I have never heard a teaching or sermon explaining it.
The Bible
For a man to hold such authority in matters under the queen, he was usually a eunuch or a castrated person, so that he was no threat to lie with the queen or her female servants. This was the normal operation of those who were in position to deal with a harem of women in these cultures.
But while that is the root meaning, by extension the word identifies anyone who won't have sexual union with a woman. For example anyone who, for conscience sake, will not enter into sexual union, has by implication made himself a eunuch or a celibate man. Jesus Himself uses the word signifying those abstaining from sexual union, choosing to remain single or unmarried (celibate).
Not to be confused with the word "homosexual," which means men who are attracted to other men, or women who are attracted to other women. These are totally different words with totally different definitions. For example, Christ spoke of those who "would not marry" for the kingdom of God's sake, and called them eunuchs. Because these were men who would remain single or celibate so that they could better serve God.
Matthew 19:12
• "For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake.
He that is able to receive it, let 1st Corinthians 7:7-9 ). Those who remain unmarried for the Kingdom of God's sake do so by design, in order to place all their emphasis and talents on Christ, and not on caring for a wife.
God calls these eunuchs, and obviously He is not referring to homosexuals. him RECEIVE It."
Today there are many that cannot control their sexual appetite, which may for those of the same sex, or rape, they make a personal decision to remove their passion and torment.
Many different reasons can urge an individual to wish the castration. However, the major cause is to lose libido. Answering the questionnaire of statistical study, a man explains in the following way: " the problems which caused me my libido affected my work and the quality of my sleep. My sexual thoughts were obsession and I could not release myself from it "
Many who have been entrusted to supervise innocent children, should have their libido altered.
