This is a case of a father not only making one mistake, but also because he wanted to be fair to his children, made a second one. It seems that the same air traffic controller, who let his young son direct airplane traffic at JFK Airport in New York, also let his young daughter do the same.
For those not familiar to the story, an air traffic controller brought his two young children to work last February 16th and 17th, and allowed them both to talk with pilots. This was during a weeklong winter break that many New York schoolchildren had.
On the website
www.liveatc.net which is an air traffic control website for those who enjoy listening to air traffic conversations, the kids were recorded clearing planes for take offs and landings.
For obvious reasons, the air traffic controller and his supervisor have been suspended while there is an ongoing investigation.
