You might have seen the new YouTube video of New York Congressman Peter King ripping on Michael Jackson – if you have not, it’s to the left.
While I do agree with Congressman Peter King that the constant, 24-hour newscycle of Michael Jackson coverage can be draining, I disagree with his rude name-calling.
Listen to the video (it’s not really visually compelling). In Peter King’s words, Michael Jackson is “a low-life” and “a pervert” – he seems blissfully unaware that the pop singer was acquitted in his molestation trial.
While Rep. Peter King declares that he speaks for “blue-collar conservatives,” I’d say he just speaks for old people in general. He sounds a bit like my old great-uncle John… “That Michael Jackson’s a good singer, he done some dancing, but he was a child molester!”
Whatever. It doesn’t matter what the “Peter King Michael Jackson” rant says. With Michael Jackson memorial service ticket prices pushing $10,000, it’s obvious who has the bigger microphone. (And he’s dead!)
