99er’s Tier 5 Posts Are Like The old Scientology Rants

These are four out of the five top rants and they all have Tier 5 99er's on the heading.

This is not a new thing here at Rant Rave either. It seems that for awhile now every five or so rants that one of them has to be a Tier 5 99er's Rant. Now I'm not saying they don't have a right to gripe. But I figure if their unemployment ran out that maybe it's time to get up and make some dough! Don't you think so?

It seems like we cant click on a Rant link that is not tied to Tier 5 99er's. It reminds me of The Scientology crowed who had possessed Rant Rave awhile back. So what's up with that?

28 months ago: Yeah, I remember those days when the Scientologists took over RantRave, to the point that other blogs and websites accused RantRave of being a Scientologer safe haven and said RantRave was even paying the Scientology people to post here.

Dwayne, how did you feel way back then when all the Scientology buzz was at its heyday? Did it make you feel like Rock-in' out on some folks?

28 months ago: The reason you are reading all about 99ers is because there are so many of them and they are not being heard and they are suffering and there children are suffering so our word gets out there. We are all looking for jobs I go fill out applications and I email resumes at least 40 a day I don't need to hear someone be negative and say go out and make some dough shame on you!!!!!!!!!!

We are looking and if the President doesn't want to bring it up we need it to get out there by any means so sorry if you are having a problem with having to read about people suffering and trying as hard as they can to keep there family together and out of the cold and gas to go to interviews. So keep your thoughts to your self and go to a different site if you don't want to read about people in pain mentally and physically and looking for an outlet!!

We aren't asking people to feel sorry for us but we need help these job creations don't happen over night and until then we need the help and the voice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dwayne, you just got here in Oct - how does it remind you when you weren't here back then? Oops?

It is an interesting comparison though although you could of just well compared the current crop of evangelical religious proselyters but if you dig enough, you'll find the same root for all three - money.

This has become like a where is Waldo poster. Calm down I've been reading some of the past posts, unlike the Siempre posts there are a lot more Scientology posts, as for the religious posts. It seems like Rant Rave has had them all along. Besides I never said that any of it was money motivated. I just suggested that the 99er's could spend their time doing more industrious things. Read their comment's to me. I think they understood that. Why didn't you?

28 months ago: Sure maybe spend industrious time like eating a decent meal for themselves and their families. That would be quite unusual. Also, a lot of people have gone back to school to be educated in a new career. The reality is that there are not enough jobs to fill the demand so we have to be industrious like we have been and go back to be educated in a new field of work. I just don't think you know what has been happening with the people. People have a right to get together on the site and discuss this issue. Where else are they going to go, they need support. No easy remedy or solution. If you'd like to help, feel welcome. Give us those industrious suggestions. I don't understand what you are saying, except you aren't fully aware of the situation.

28 months ago: Hey Wayne you sound like a republican jumping the gun telling people to go make some "dough". Many people who are unemployed are trying to get some "dough". We aren't lazy and we sure as hell have time in between to be online and talk to fellow unemployed people. I'm going to school receiving unemployment and talking to people online. You sound very ignorant like many other's when you start telling people what they should do without you actually knowing what they are doing for themselves and for there famalies. And by the way take off those goofy sunglasses you have on they ook like they belong on my 10 yr. old cousin. Do you not make enough "dough" to get some frames that fit your face? Or are you telling me they're in style. Whos style exactly. I never seen a grown man wear such tiny glasses unless they were broke.

28 months ago: Dywane there are no job interviews. They are getting fewer and fewer. Employers will not call you if you are a 99er through no fault of your own. You can be the most qualified for the job and best person for the job and they will not consider you. You have to realize that. This has been a battle to find work. Also, if you made good money they take one look at that last salary and get rid of you. They feel you will leave them for a better opportunity. Or other reasons, such as, spite. Good jobs are flooded with applicants. You send resumes out by the 100s and no one calls. If they give you an interview, they say they will call in about 2 weeks, so you send out more resumes. So you wait only for that call never to come. It's heartbreaking a lot of people have checked out from this no win scene. It's serious. Your comments show no knowledge of what is going on. Many 99ers have found seasonal work only to be let go after the Holidays. So called experts on jobs say that you have to show either you volunteered or you worked at something. It doesn't work that way either. We've done spectacular things during this time to make a difference to help others. You can't even comprehend it. Still no work and no one is interested in it when it comes to a job interview. Do you want us to walk up and down in the freezing cold and snow and get sick so you can say we are industrious. We were born industrious. Something you don't get.

28 months ago: Dwayne obviously you have work. It is hard for those people like yourself to have any conception of the suffering of many. Maybe you can find the 15,000,000 people or more work. And don't say Mc Donalds because that has been already tried and worn out. Any other suggestions? People have been taken advantage of. Their jobs have been taken away, their homes on and on. It's time the Government put things back in order. Maybe people reading these comments should be American enough to create jobs for people to get back their lives and keep America strong. I don't think educated, smart people enjoy being without work. So when does the Government help those that they hurt the most. Believe me no one is safe from this crumbling of our Country. After that Union Address I don't see anything happening for the good of the country.

They say in March Tier 5 Legislation will be up again before Congress. They have to do something. Too many more people fell off of UI benefits and unemployment is on the rise. Government seems so much against it. It's chilling.

28 months ago: For millions of Americans w/out unemployment benefits or jobs 2011 WILL BE be the worst year yet.

My unemployment ran out in October of 2010. In November I had to stop paying my bills, trying to hold onto what little cash I had left. This month I could not pay my rent, and my phone was finally shut off too.

The minimum wage job I thought I was starting on 1/31 got pushed out to 2/21 (maybe?) . . . my family has also refused me any help.

With our governments failure to create any jobs in my state the future looks bleak. Im not sure how long I will have a place to live and hope seems dead in the water.

I encourage everyone to pay attention to what is going on in the rest of the world . . .people in the streets are making a change!

For all the 99ers out there who will soon be facing lives in the streets, I encourage each and everyone of you to head towards your state capital with a tent and anything else you might need to set up camp...better yet if you can make it, head to our nations.

If nothing short of a miracle does not fall from heaven into my lap, i will join you soon!

28 months ago: Doing to little to late is never enough. The sad part of all your gripping is that you guys think you had no choice but to go through it. I've been unemployed before but I've never been in your shoes, because I never let my self get there. Nobody owes you anything! All the racist insults from PintoBean and racial innuendo's from JR. will not change the facts. Laziness as I see it is overpaid people that got used to under priced goods now getting a reality check when they open their eyes to find out there isn't a market for overpriced button pushers! Reality is the biggest pill to swallow 99er's so stop wasting your time on here and go use your time more efficiently!

28 months ago: Are you referring to teachers, professors, engineers, developers and I can go on and on that have been affected by the economy. These people deserve good salaries they are educated and contribute to our society. Without them what would we do. What would you do? How about the trucking industry and the airline industry. You call these people button pushers. The regular worker is out there keeping our economy going and providing for their families. They are the strength of this country. They contribute to society and provide for the future of their children.
Doing too little too late is never enough. - What does that mean? It sounds as if you are angry because people got the UI benefits in the first place. Without those benefits, the economy would have crashed. That money keeps the shops and businesses open. What kind of work do you do? So I think you are trying to pat yourself on the back for what I don't know.
It also sounds like you missed out in life.
28 months ago: Go do a job search Sunny. There are plenty of positions available for qualified candidates for the jobs you mentioned but those are not the ones gripping are they? The ones you mentioned have jobs. No they are not the ones gripping. The ones griping are the over paid that are now unemployed because their jobs have gone to providers overseas and south of the border. Go check and see where the overflow of unemployed fit under? It is time to retrain Sunny. That is the hard fact and since you didn't do it earlier then now you have to do it while you are working a sucky minimum wage job. Will it be enough to pay your rent? No, that's why you will have to bunk in a one bedroom apartment with a few other people in your same situation. It sucks but you have to do it!

As for me missing out in life. I turn lemons into lemonade. That is the whole point of this rant and everything I've said up to this point. I don't mind hearing people complain if they will follow it with constructive advice but when all I hear is pity me, pity me, pity me. I get fed up! No healthy capable person deserves a free ride. Children deserve a free ride cause they are growing. Old people deserve a free ride because they paid there dues. The infirm deserve a free ride because they can't take care of themselves. But the irresponsible and those that didn't plan and those that can't identify a stupid decision deserve a lesson in hard knocks.

I sound mean don't I? Well that's because I'm not a bleeding heart liberal! I don't cry because a cow gave it's life to be my hamburger so long as it was kept in humane open air conditions and wasn't fed anything unnatural to its diet to make it fat then I say the cow had a good life and I enjoy my steak. I work hard and I play hard. My dues are paid Sunny and I expect my taxes to go to the betterment of my country not to lazy people who sit and whine that they have sent hundreds of resumes!

It is your life Sunny! Yours! Not mine. When I lost my job. I went into disaster mode immediately! I assumed nothing and salvaged nothing all bets were off and I did what I could to make sure that I came out of it standing up. Don't whine to me because I have no sympathy. I have no sympathy because I know what it takes to survive! Perhaps if the whole lot of you were to use Rant Rave to exchange positive information instead of griping maybe all of you would have jobs already!

You should realize you are talking to a stranger on an internet and you can't compare your life with others because that is all you know. I'm sure you worked hard, but so do others and that's all the more reason for you to look at the facts. I just can't understand why you would want to talk to the 99ers. You really don't phase me nor am I bothered by what you say because no matter what I have always lived well and always will. Another thing, my entire family is educated and self made. Like most of the 99ers on this site, we are too far over your head for you to understand. As I said before the 99ers were born industrious. I can see that you can't learn.

28 months ago: Dwayne - Being part of Society means that all of us have a contractual obligation to help each other. How come you keep saying that 99ers are lazy when they try to explain to you the reality of this. That is jaded. We've been through this a million times and have stood up to it. Millions have stood up to this. You can't make intelligent people less than who they are by deflamatory words. You have to be aware of the facts. You can say what you want it doesn't bother me because I know the reality of this issue. You have to realize like you and most of us experienced being out of work and getting a job quickly before but times are totally different. It also depends on the line of work. During those times in the past when I was laid off I came right back. People who are hard workers are always that way and survive. You never know what life throws at you. I'm sure you will reach out to someone when you need help and have in the past. We are dealing with a Government that isn't there for the people. We are dealing with a Party of "No". If you are so annoyed at the 99ers and don't understand, then you shouldn't really be talking to any of us until you learn the facts.

28 months ago: When you see what is going on in Egypt where the people are rebelling against their Government, you see what happens to a Country when Government controls. You hear that they have no jobs and they can't even get married without any money. They don't have freedom. They have no democracy. They you start wondering how a guy like Dwayne can't see the forest for the trees and appreciates what America is all about. "Standing Up for each other".
If we allow the Gov. to get their way with ignoring the long termed unemployed than he will see he will fall in the category of being ignored and not recognized because it will only be the rich controlling the country. So, he still will complain that we are fighting for our rights.
28 months ago: The government? Lady, General Mubarak is a 30 year dictator supported by the US because he is a secular dictator as apposed to the swarm of Islamic dictators in that area! He and his military have denied the Egyptian people a voice for what seems the last time. Now the US has to walk a razor wire and support the protest of the Egyptian people while down playing our support for the government that they want torn down. That's politics in the middle east for you! Imagine what would happen if the US did not support secular governments in the middle east? Imagine what would happen if we did not support Israel?

Any Muslim will tell you that it is Allah's will that the whole world become Muslim. That is their ultimate goal. Are you okay with that? You say that we need to protest the government! Has it occurred to you that in the United States the people are the government? That you have a voice, an active voice that you may choose to use or to silence at will? Maybe what you and the other 99er's lack is a class in civics.

I'm glad you never put youself in our situation always trying to better yourself but that doesn't mean I have given up a long time ago. I've been looking for jobs everyday since i've been unemployed. Maybe Im too young and people don't want to pay me good money for the type of job I use to do, so be it. But I know I made danm good money and I can atleast say I never struggled while I was at work. I had an awesome 4x4 truck, a samll house of my own and plenty of money in the bank, but things changed and I've been beaten down by this economy as many others. And while I have to hear a gloutness piece of *%&$ like you mumbling about how good you got it, It just makes me feel sorry for you becuase you've never been humbled in your life. But know that what goes around comes around and eventually you'll feel my pain in this life or the next. And if it continues to bother you that I'm standing up for myself then go cry me a river, your not human enough to put me down I know I'm a smart young guy going everything for me. While your sorry **** has a job and has to go onto putting people down while they are out of work. I mean if that is not a bigger loser than an unemployed worker i don't know what is. The difference between you an me besides our employment status, race and view of the world is our definition of an insult or a put down. You insulted my race and I brushed it off as the consequence of trying to reason with an unreasonable racist. However I did not insult your place of residence nor your lack of employment. What I did do is say that a person who stops looking for work while he continues to spend frivolously and demands for a hand out is lazy! This is not an insult. It is a fact! To stop looking for work when you need it the most and resort to demanding handouts is nothing more than lazy.

Furthermore you apparently don't read to well either because I specifically stated that I know what it is like to be out of work but that I never allowed myself to become down and out because I worked feverishly to prevent it! You yourself admit that you were overpaid at your last job and then brag that you were able to save enough for your truck and house and that now nobody wants to pay you that same abusive amount!

Apparently it's not that you can't get a job, it's that you cant get the same fat cat wage you got before so your over inflated ego keeps turning down good jobs. See what you call being a gluttonous piece of $%&* is you being a lazy racist who sits there studying my avatar while you mope over the fact that in some developing country 5 or 6 people can now feed and educate their whole families on the undeserved fat cat wage that you used to get and that is an underestimate.

Drop the ego, get some self respect and become a real American by getting a job or two. And stop worrying about some strangers sex life on the internet.

28 months ago: Tier 5 will never happen since we know that it takes 2/3 majority vote to pass in the house. And Reps. will not vote on any productive spending since for every 1 dollar is spent on unemployment it generates 1.70 or so to the economy. With consumer spending up that generates more jobs. We need to be at 2.5% or more on yearly gdp(gross domestic product) in order to get out of this recession in less than 4 years, but I don't see that happening. And as for the Senate they can bring up a bill as well but the Reps. will filibuster like they always have been doing since Obama's been in office. Or unless they do something to change the filibuster rule maybe something will get done but that's a long shot since they've been using the filibuster to filibster the rules. So just continue to look for work because it's to late for anything beyond 99 weeks.

The Government should of done something months and months ago. Some of the Representatives are saying that Tier 5 Legislation comes up again in March. That only makes people who are having it very hard get their hopes up in getting some relief. I hope they come up with a better solution to get help to people fast.

28 months ago: Junior: If you only blame the Reps you're missing half the problem. The Dems could have done it in the last Congress, or they could have demanded it as part of the tax cuts deal.

More than the necessary number of Reps promised to support the Americans Want To Work Act provided that it was paid for, but the Dems didn't want it unless they could put it on the national credit card.

You don't live alone in this world there are others too that count and we are all different colors and we think differently. I'm a 99er and proud of the fact that I can survive this rediculous leadership. My last job was 2008 when my boss wanted the staff to work for free because they couldn't pay wages. They were stealing from their employees pocketing employee deductions. She didn't tell us, she just didn't pay us until we couldn't pay our rent. They were rude to the people and thieves. Long term unemployed people are becoming a wide spread virus with more and more falling off of benefits with no solution in sight. This problem that will bring this Country down if something isn't done. We have a Leader who doesn't lead and people like yourself who adds to the problem because they are so conscious of their looks and getting attention.
