99er Ranks Reach Critical Mass As Obombasta Sings Swan Song

As the number of irradiated 99ers swells to an epic and critical mass, President Obombasta is beautifully singing America's Swan Song.

The lugubrious dirge piped by the Imposter-In-Chief is lulling millions to sleep, while outright paralyzing others by the sheer inanity of the content. Juxtapose the Playboy lifestyle being lived by the evil automaton leading America into the Apocalypse with the words from his mouth, and even the most intelligent and aware amongst us are forced to chuckle at the sad double-speak being used to describe the unbelievable calamity we are in.

All cognizant Americans are bracing themselves for the soon-coming Econoshock by either hoarding, hiding or partying like it's 1999(er).

President Obombasta is doing the same.

You said it exactly how it is. I see it the same way.
There are jobs listed but very few for the average American and most certainly there has been no evidence that employers will hire the long term unemployed. Most small businesses are suffering and more job lay offs. Government has done nothing at all in the past months to show that they have any intention or the slightest interest to get off of their back sides and do something for the people. I don't get it. They are a handful of useless people compared to a Nation of people who can make demands. What are American people waiting for? I can't wait until they are all voted out. Sunny

Now we need people like Redford and other celebrities that have the guts to help. At last someone said something. Trump wants to run we are in big trouble. He is nothing but another pawn to be dealt with in the Republican swamp. Does this guy realize that Presidents are born and are not fabricated businessmen. I haven't seen him do one thing to show any kindness to the people aside from that rediculous show he puts on and then brags about how much money he has. It tells me that he is doing the same only trying to buy his way in because he feels he can.
12 months ago: sunny2,

Unemployment rates fabricated by the media have mislead America into lowering wages and benefits for the working, and made it virtually impossible for the long-term unemployed to find any work at living wages.

The destruction of the middle class in America is going exactly as planned by the evil puppet masters who masterwind world affairs.

Buy local. Pay cash. Trade whenever possible.

Americans must be prepared to unite and say "No" to the nascent New World Order being nurtured by the Obombasta Ad(hoc)ministration.

Others choose to be safe on their little islands somewhere and believe all is right with the World as long as they have food, water, and shelter for the moment. Sunny

Americans are fed up, and are ready to tell the Obombasta Ad(hoc)ministration to go to hell.

I am a peacemaker as you, but I also stand up and fight when I have to in order to protect and preserve it. One in particular seems to think woman should know their place. He lives in the dark ages and not in touch with reality.
I wish people would have more courage to fight for what is theirs and speak up and not coddle anyone because they spit out vengeance and hate to those that disagree. The way everything is going isn't the way this Country was meant to be. Some of people are so petty criticizing a couple of words, but don't realize that very brilliant people couldn't spell. They should know that Einstein couldn't spell nearly a word. Take Care. It won't stop me from fighting back. Sunny

The American spirit lives in each and every American. Americans will survive Holocaust 2011 and Nuclear Spring 2011, and celebrate Dearth Day each and every week, even if we are living in caves eating fish and berries.

The Devil is in the details.

If we all do what we are best at, then we all will survive.

12 months ago: Pastor at this point living in caves might not be so bad, but we have to find them first to find shelter for the masses. We won't have to pay for electric and decorating might be a lot cheaper. Our vision will become sharper, and our bodies stronger from being out in the wilderness. We will live with natural light and drink clear spring water and the air we would breathe wouldn't be polluted. Eating fish and berries of course would be healthier than what Americans are eating...process packaged junk foods which encourages obesity. Everything will revert to a better environment and freedom from disease such as cancer.
(Just another spin on it.) Then maybe after all is said and done, we can get back to the adventure. Sunny Have a beautiful day

Now that President Obombasta has been unduly given the credit for Bin Laden's death, it only seems natural that the computerized voting machines will be pre-loaded with the appropriate counts in 2012 to guarantee four more years of apocalyptic antics by a man that may not even be human, let alone American (see the fake birth certificate for all the details).

Americans must demand hand-written and hand-counted voting methods in 2012.

12 months ago: Pastor and Sunny I don't understand what you think Obama should do.

He came into office with 8 million unemployed and since Obama passed his stimulus bill we have consistently added jobs almost every month. At first the stimulus mostly added public jobs but since the stimulus stopped private job growth took over. See: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archive...

Obama has been fighting for unemployment benefits and extensions. He knows that people are suffering and is doing everything he can to help. He can't do it himself. It is Congress that determines unemployment extensions. Obama had to just about give away the farm (extension of the Bush tax breaks to the rich which cost $700 billion) to the Republicans to get them to extend benefits. Now he is being coerced and blackmailed to cut any and all programs that help the unemployed and poor.

I don't understand how you can lay the blame for your unemployment at Obama's feet. He had nothing to do with the collapse of the economy. He had nothing to do with the loss of those 8 million jobs, but he has brought back 2 million jobs and prevented the collapse of the economy into a major depression that would have meant 25% unemployment instead of the current 10%.

Why don't you guys place the blame on those that crashed the economy and those who lost all of the jobs? Why don't you blame those who have prevented extension of unemployment benefits? Why don't you blame those who are demanding the slashing of all programs to help the poor and unemployed, or they will refuse to extend the debt limit which would collapse the economy again and send us into a great depression along with the rest of the world? Why don't you blame the Republicans who have filibustered every single bill that the Democrats have tried to pass to help the unemployed and the poor?

Why don't you tell us what on earth you would do differently if you had Obama's job when you were handed this huge pile of poop and told to fix it overnight, all the while having the people who created the problem constantly fighting everything you tried to do?

Even they don't contest Obama's great job in doing what Bush was incapable (or unwilling) to do. They just want us to start torturing people again, with the completely false claim that it was the torture that enabled Obama to get Osama. In fact the waterboarding prevented and postponed the capture of Osama. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who was waterboarded 183 times intentionally fed a lot of false information to his torturers to get them to stop. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-nicko...

"Computerized voting machines will be pre-loaded with the appropriate counts?" Once again you are blaming the wrong people. Here is what our President should (but probably won't) do:

Immediately extend Tier 5 Unemployment benefits to all 99ers and sub-99ers across America.

The Bin Laden Assassination Publicity Stunt succeeded in drawing attention away from the Fukushima disaster, the crumbling US economy and imminent war in the Middle East (WWIII).

Regardless, Bin Laden has been dead for ten years:

You do a disservice to our Seal Team members and to the military in general by doubting their veracity and abilities.

As I already said, Obama can do little about unemployment benefits. Unfortunately people like you who blame Obama and the Democrats for all things bad, helped get Republicans into power in the last election.

As a result the Republicans are busy making life a living hell for the poor and unemployed. The individual states determine unemployment benefits, and since most are now controlled by Republicans things do not look very hopeful for you.

The latest outrage is by the Republican Governor of Florida who will soon tie unemployment benefits to unemployment rates. At the current rate the maximum unemployment you could get would be 23 weeks (as opposed to the 26 weeks now), and if the economy improves and we get down to 5% unemployment you would only be allowed 12 weeks of Unemployment. http://money.cnn.com/2011/05/10/news/eco...

Good luck with trying to make the elections fair. The Republicans are busy redistricting (Gerrymandering) to benefit the Republicans, and the States count and verify the votes. http://scienceblogs.com/goodmath/2008/02...

12 months ago: Altruist I don't dislike President Obama in any way. I felt he hasn't been strong enough to be a good Leader. When the people needed him the most, he became silent and stubborn to their needs and ignored the cries for help. At the worse time when people were losing their homes and were going hungry, he didn't answer. When the people were fighting for benefits each time, they had to take to the streets to get acknowledged and Obama and Pelosi were deaf to it. Not one word, except "No Extention." This was from Pelosi his pal. Say that to hungry children. He fights like a tiger when it comes to Bin Laden and funds the war that will go on forever and will continue to take the lives of our troops. You mention the poor, but I have written my concerns many, many times and have been scrutinized for it. I struggle to keep my head above water like others, but I do it. I would like to continue to have the things I miss most like traveling and feeling free to grow and thrive. There are people who have had plenty of money but because of illness and the economy are reaching out to others like them to help. Sure, there are many jobs advertised but try to get one. The market is flooded with people out of work. Even if they aren't qualified for the job, they go after it and the person who is qualified is lost in the mess. I am not a Republican and as far as I can see they have damaged our Country. I'm not going to write anymore because no one reads or understands what I say. You wrote something really nice to me the other day and someone comes along and bashes it.
They always look for the negativity. Aside from you and a couple of people I appreciate what you say. I definitely am not against Obama, but I don't like his caving in to the Republicans. He should be strong on other issues that are threatening people besides his Health Reform Bill. I have written to you several times about the jobs out there and how badly they treat people. They use your knowledge and ability using the economy as an excuse while paying nothing. How many people lost their positions to take a 30,000 pay cut after years of advancing in their fields and that is bottom line.
Unless you live in areas that have been hit the hardest, you probably wouldn't understand that the job situation is worse. Millions more than what it was a couple of months ago have fallen off benefits and can't find work to provide for their families and themselves. I'm starting to lose interest in this site because of the inability of people to have open minds. I'm talking about a few others that go after me. What's the sense of even talking.

12 months ago: I don't think that is the case Al. I think he is going through a very bad time and is feeling the effects of an economy that hurt many people that can't recover from the damage that has been done. Obama is the President. He didn't have to take all that nonsense from the Republicans blocking every single issue with no resolution. He could of stepped up and did what he was suppose to do. Make the people number one. He doesn't do it now. It looks like Obama will get back on his horse again charming people into believing his campaign promises will stick, and he is a great person and Leader. He shows no connection to the people.

Most of the people on the site are conservative males I would like to see more people with differing viewpoints, especially more feminine viewpoints, because they don't resort as much to personal attacks and name calling.

I wouldn't want Obama's job. He entered the job with the economy destroyed and heading for a depression, with two wars going on, and then was hit by the disaster in the gulf and one disaster after another.

On top of that he has tried to reach out the the republicans, but at every point they refused to compromise and from the very first he has been subjected to terrible personal attacks and opposition to any thing he or the Democrats proposed.

I share your frustration that not enough has been done to help the people, and I agree with you that Obama has been too conservative when laying out his bargaining positions. I wish he were the socialist that the right wing claims he is. Instead every position he proposes is centrist or leaning to the right. He should have nationalized the failing banks, he should have demanded twice as much stimulus funds, which would have pulled us out of the recession quicker. He should have pushed for single payment health care, he should have pushed for a carbon tax, and he should have re-instated the CCC, but instead by starting in the middle after "compromise" we end up way over on the right.

Even though the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress the Republicans were able to stop almost all legislation by filibustering everything. When the Republicans took over in the House there were over 400 bills passed by the Democratic House that had been blocked by the minority opposition in the Senate. http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/83057...

I know that it may appear that Obama has done nothing to help the unemployed but ever since he has gotten into office he has worked tirelessly to extend unemployment and the republicans have fought him every step of the way.

Thank you Al.
I realize that the President has been up against a brick wall, and it is horrifying but what can we do. It is up to him at this point. He has to be rock solid in everything he says to gain trust. I can't imagine a Party that wants their President to fail in these difficult times and will hold him down in order to keep him in a choke hold despite how their actions look to the general public. He's the President and even if he has been knocked down by the Republicans, he must give something back to the people to reassure them that he is in their corner. People only remember the present, and not what happened yesterday when it comes to their President's leadership or yesterday's news. They don't remember Legislation or Bills that have been passed because they are too busy with surviving and mending. They see only what isn't being done at the moment. If they are losing their jobs, homes, and other assets stripping them of everything that they have worked for, I don't think they have the luxury of having the time to reflect on what has been done. They need to be saved from being homeless. Instead they are treated as if they don't count. People who are working in places, such as Corporate, are oblivious to to the state of the economy or their fellow Americans woes. How much more is the Government going to be allowed to take away? The Republicans are destroying the face of America.. They are taking away the pride of the people. The damage is obvious in the condition of our Country as you drive through towns and see businesses shut down and for sale signs on homes. Everything that once shined looks shabby. I know the male conservatives on this site will fight or mock anything I say. I'll write to some of the people because I find what they say interesting, and I like to talk, but I'm ignored or someone will call me a "stalker" because they feel important and big headed and have support from their friends. That's crazy. I don't try to change their opinion, or feel I am always right. I'm interested in people and their culture and everything said. I find it pathetic if I reply to a comment, but I am ignored. They seem to think an online site is made exclusively for their opinion only, or they are too above everything to recognize anyone else, especially woman. I remember others complaining about it. These are the ones that are being delusional of their own importance. What happened to all the woman on this site that had good points of view? I don't want to appear unpleasant but that is what I see from the outside looking in. By not considering ideas and comments from everyone, these people are repeating the design of 3rd World Countries and see nothing but their own reflections in the mirror and hear only one side which to them is the only side. The Right has shown that there actions are not wrong when it comes to achieving their goals and will not stop short of hurting anyone in their paths. Fortunately, they don't make up the entire world, and we are suppose to have equality. Again, Obama talks a big talk or he doesn't talk at all, but he has to connect more to the people to get them to stand behind him to support him. I'll read all the articles that you suggested. Unfortunately, the last President left behind a lot of baggage for this President to handle, but this is a different Administration that must make it known who they are and not back down as they are fighting a larger battle with a lot more at stake. There is no comprising with these people because nothing good will come out of it that is worthwhile; therefore, the people will pay a considerable price in the long run until there is nothing left to salvage. Obama has to say "No" to the opposition and not so much to the people. People don't forget. He has to give the people hope and mean it. (just my opinion)

12 months ago: You are correct sunny that the people in this country have very short memories. They don't remember just three years ago when the Republicans destroyed the economy. They do have it bad now and tend to blame everything on the current president even though he may be powerless to change anything.

The Republicans have a very effective propaganda machine to attack the President, and the Democrats, and to take advantage of people's anger and redirect it away from those who caused the problems onto the ones who are trying to solve the problems.

The current increase in gas prices is a good example. The Left has been warning people for a long time that our oil supplies are disappearing and that we need to change to renewable alternatives. China and India were both too poor to use much oil 20 years ago, but now everyone is wanting their own car there so oil use is going up and demand drives the price up.

In addition Wall Street Speculators have been artificially driving the price of gas up.

Then there are world crises like the wave of revolutions in the Mid East that causes uncertainty, and that drives up prices.

Now the floodwaters of the Mississippi are going to surrounding the refineries in that area.

None of this stuff is Obama's fault, but the propaganda machine blames Obama, and says it is all because he is not allowing the oil companies to drill for oil.

The problem with that is that Saudi Arabia has vowed to increase production to keep up with demand, and all of our refineries are full of oil, so we know that the problem is not one of supply. http://www.examiner.com/political-buzz-i...

Still Obama has been increasing drilling permits. He has allowed 49 shallow water and 12 deep water drilling permits since BP caused the disaster in the gulf, even though research has indicated that the blow out preventors that are supposed to prevent disasters like the BP one, do not work.

The Republicans and their fossil fuel owners will never be satisfied until they are free to drill in all of our national parks and sensitive areas without any safeguards, rules or regulations.

The only way to break free from our dependance on foreign oil, which is funding terrorism throughout the world, is to switch to renewable alternatives to fossil fuels.

The republicans oppose this because they are owned by the fossil fuel industries, so in their Republican budget they want to keep the 4 billion dollars in corporate welfare to the oil companies who are making more profit than any company ever has in the history of the world. At the same time they want to slash support for renewable energy research by 70%

If the many problems continue to become overwhelming, how will they recommend fixing it? The Republicans come out of their dark corners swinging afer all the dirty work is done and try to appear as heroes removing blame from themselves to get the voters to buy into it. I can't wait for that one. It's lies, lies, and more lies while becoming more bold and more transparent thinking people don't know any better. I hope the voters don't fall for it this time. If the Republicans get the majority of their constituents in again, we are finished.
I've noticed that when the economy improves ever so slightly gas and oil prices go up. My Dad in his younger years owned a gas station or two, and I remember the lines and lines of cars waiting to buy from whoever would sell less per gallon. We were totally community-minded family and helped where we could. I'm glad I've inherited that quality and can be proud of it. I wonder what some of these others do to help. Americans are constantly being exploited and the victims of manipulation and; therefore, the recipients of great losses. It's a free for all. Our Country is long overdue in being more self-sufficient by relying on our own natural resources and not throwing money away helping other Governments. It is cheating us from thriving as we should. Also, the environment issues are dead in the water every time they are brought up. It makes me ill knowing that there is so little care taken to preserve our land, forest, and water systems, etc. There are some people that are against every good thing and not focus on the welfare of this Country.
The Republicans openly and brazenly broadcast they are influenced by powerful industries and don't show any remorse. This was bound to happen as it has been going on too long. Democrats will need to toughen up and fight this battle. It is going to be a long road to recovery. The announcement this morning was that NY intends to lay off 700 teachers. It just gets better and better. How in the world will they find jobs? Again more unemployment benefits will be paid. This will be ignored and polls will be showing the economy is getting better.
I just read that food stamps have moved to 15 % in a place like NYC. How is this going to reverse itself? It is a giant whirlpool taking everything in for the rich. Thank you for the links. I enjoy reading them. I know no one will comment. They have nothing to say anyway that could change my mind. Sunny

sunny2,

The boundary between reality and fantasy has been blurred by television - few can tell the difference any more.

With computerized voting machines and media-counted final tallies, the American voters' intentions become whatever the pre-selected official wants them to be.

In regard to gasoline prices, I've noticed that when gas prices go down after a spike, they are slightly higher than before they were artificially inflated.

The Age of Shame is over.

The End Times have begun.

Right-wing radicals in Congress continue to wage war against women with the recent passage of H.R. 3 in the House. This outrageous bill would significantly restrict women's access to abortion services and even "redefine rape." Did your phone company fund politicians who cosponsored this bill?
AT&T and Verizon Wireless both contributed to House Tea Party Caucus founder Rep. Michele Bachmann, who cosponsored H.R. 3 and stated she was "proud" to vote for this bill. If the best revenge is living well, then just living at all is revenge in 2011.

Regarding Holocaust 2011, any 99er who survives through 2012 will be living well in relation to the millions of 99ers who will not live to see the sun rise on January 1, 2013.
